    but after you go through sort of a panic attack or a serious bout of anxiety or breakdown and lose some fragments of the ego... don't you feel amazing afterwards

    like you just vented and cleansed out some nonsense

    having a massive crying session is a huge therapy for me, its a great feeling =]

    Yes, its the endorphines and letting out those emotions that hold you in. You are able afterwards to fill your lungs with oxygen, which is gives a total refreshing , full feeling - both pyschologically and physically.
