Is it a really bad idea to try acid as your first drug?

Im glad you are not taking acid Woodstockchild. You are not ready for it. I admit it is my favorite drug, ive done it many times, during a specific period of my life, between the ages of 19 and 25. It is very powerful and i dont think you know what its effects are. It is not like the yellow submarine trippy halucination thing, its a deeply spiritual experience, kind of like getting into your own soul. It completely alters your thought process and you think of things in a way thats impossible to do sober and impossible to explain. Once you drop it , your in for good. No turning back for 8 to 9 hours. I have never had a bad trip, but its not something a 15 year old should take. Your really not ready for it. You never trip alone, always do it with someone else. I always go inside myself and i guess analyze my being, its very difficult to explain, and i dont mean to sound condescending, but a 15 year old is not emotionally or mentally mature enough to handle the experience. I have read your posts and threads and i think im on the money with this one. As for it not driving people nuts, remember Syd Barrett, the original leader of pink floyd. he constantly trip and his mind deteriorated so badly he was intitutionalized for years. Listen to David Gilmours song, Wish you were here, its about Syd Barrett. I beleive there is a time and a reason to do this and i beleive its between the ages of 19 through early 20's because this is when most young adults are trying to discover where they fit in the world. Its not meant for 15 year olds, i am sorry and i would not feel right even suggesting to a 15 year old to do drugs. I havent done acid in years but i do want to do it just one more time before this long strange trip is over.

If i could only choose one drug and I had to give up the rest, it would be LSD hands down, no questions ask...gimmie the dose and you can keep the coke, scag, shrooms, molly whatever you name...lsd transcends it

 

Syd Barret was bipolar man, and the lsd intensified that extremely. It wasn't any kind of psychosis, Barret was just really emotionally unstable. He was really crazy even before was in Pink Floyd, or before he tried lsd, it's just that no doctors had told him so.
