Most of modern bands don't understood anything in rock n roll... Ok there's a good part in the underground...the best in fact... are condamned to darkness... sad story of rock n roll goes on... but well when you listen the plastic garage rock bands (no open spirit , they often sound the same) or american nu-metal bands... really rock n roll became just shit right now... Myself a rock n roller :H ...i hate most of those bands... how people who listen techno ...rap... raggae...can be attracted by those false rebels... A movement can't grow with plastic rock bands as leaders Even Simon & Garfunkel or Donovan were more rebels and revolutionaries than most of rock bands on MTV... And this is the signal that something is lost...something goes wrong... There's potential in rock n roll... but all is hidden underground... The problem came from Music channel and the Mean Radios across the land ...who choose this band and not the other one... they often like to promote fake bands ...playin' the actor or sex, drug and rock n' roll... but this is not an actor game... the real one don't play the actors ...they live for rock n roll... How can we disturb this unstoppable money machine ...who kill original rock n roll ?... all is here... Maybe in becomin' terrorist of the good cause... put bombs in commercial radios... and bad musical channel.... mmmhhh search brothers & sisters search...
They aren't really emo..... Bloc Party is sorta, but the other bands on there, while good, aren't really emo.
you have no idea what your talking about nor does anyone else who aggrees. some of the greatest music is coming out in the 00s. Look at the fucking jam band scene, its incredible. Some of the most talented and greatest musicians are coming out of our era. You guys just don't know where to look.
Haha, oh, c'mon, you can't say Bright Eyes isn't emo. He wrote "I want a lover I don't have to love, I want a girl who doesn't give a fuck." And so on. But nowadays, a lot of things are being labeled emo, just for expressing emotions not touched so much on the radio and MTV. Sufjan's newer stuff isn't very "emo" but I'd classify something like his Michigan State cd "emo." Although, to be honest, I don't really like that word in general. It's just what a lot of people would tend to put in that label, you know?
nah man rock is very much a live everytime i play with my band. or one goes to a gig or you listen to you fav record
I'm not narrow minded, but most of the music around now is shit. MOST of the rock is shit too. But i'm sorry if i find stupid "rap" and "hip-hop" tracks with pointless lyrics and monotonus beats shit, it's my opinion, doesn't make me narrow minded. And not all other muisc besides rock is shit, there are some incredible metal bands, and country bands, and so on. Popular music is the music that sells, not the genuinly good stuff.
good rock is fading, but there is still some sweet stuff out there. recently, i got into coheed and cambria. at first i thought they were such a cliche' band and really not worth more than that guys scary hair but honestly i cant stop playing the cd. also, a new group called The Lovehammers ( ive also heard them be called marty casey and the lovehammers) are really good too. shinedown is also a band that is kicking some major butt.
good music needs a host, a friend or some one tell, "ey check this out!" Good music is extremly scares now adays, be it rock or hip-hop or polka for that mather. it's not that it's not around, but you have to bumb into it dare
God, you people really don't know what you're talking about. Music is NOT dying. If anything, music has been doing better than it's been doing in a long while since 2004. You guys should just check out Amazon.com and click onto what members recommend. I started from searching Bjork and got one of the greatest trip-hop bands, Portishead, that I wouldn't have heard from anywhere else until years later. I still find out about a lot obsecure stuff from amazon. Believe it or not, Phish and Grateful weren't the greatest fucking bands to ever exist. It's important to know classic rock and today's music roots, but seriously people, you need to stop clinging onto the music from that far back and expose yourself to some modern music. It's fine to love classic rock, but that shouldn't be the only thing you love. I question some people's love for music who are sixteen and only listen to the Rolling Stones. That's like saying, "Yeah, I mainly just listen to the radio, music's okay, I suppose...as long as you put some Q102 on." I have no idea where I'm going with this. My main point is--don't do drugs.
Hmmm well if there wasn't anything wrong with today's music I doubt this topic would be standing today.
I listen to pretty much everything from Bach to Robert Johnson to Little Richard to Sergio Mendez to..., well, Coheed and Cambria. Good rock isn't dead. But radio has been trying to kill it for 15 years. I went to Sirius. No commercials and 100 channels by genre. And 15 year olds who idolize Jim Morrison are morons. Morrison was an arrogant asshole in high school and he chose his own path.
Uuuuhhhhhh, yeah, but a lot of people also don't research their music, and if you judge it on face value then yeah all you're going to find is Ashley Simpson and Mariah Carrey. GOOD, modern music is underground, and while it can be a little difficult to find, there's a LOT out there. People are either too ignorant to find it or think no modern music will ever compare to that era and instantly trash other music.
