Eliminating gluten is a huge step in the right direction. I would take it further by eliminating all high-glycemic carbs if you haven't already. If you eliminate that along with sugar, any excess body fat just melts away and you just have so much more energy and think so much more clearly. It's funny how cheeseburgers get such a bad rap, when really it's everything excluding the meat that is bad for you, including condiments like ketchup, most of which contains either sugar or high-fructose corn syrup. However, I wouldn't say the same holds true with the meat on a burger from a place like McDonald's, which is so heavily processed to the point of it being something completely different than what I would call real meat. It's funny how that if you take the patty off a Big Mac or some other McDonald's burger, it looks all dried out, shriveled up and overall nasty, yet it is surprisingly more flavorful (and not necessarily in a good way) than real, unadulterated meat.
It can be...I am addicted to Taco Bell's crunchy tacos and Fire sauce....I don't get it too often, though, as I know that would not be too good for me. I like Burger King's Junior whopper once in awhile, too. Bad girl that I am....lol Try not to eat beef too often though.I feel guilty when i do.
I didn't really make an effort to quit, I just started getting horrible stomach aches when I ate fast food, like it felt like a little creature with sharp teeth was gnawing on my stomach lining ( I think it may have been an ulcer as I've heard ulcer pain described similarly) and I noticed I didn't get a stomach ache when I ate fresh home cooked meals. So it was pretty much a no brainer - I just learned how to cook and stopped eating out. Learning about nutrition helped a lot too. I know on an intellectual level what I want to put in my body so I'm less tempted to give into cravings.

Not to sound like some kind of know-it-all, but some of what you have described, Rollin, sounds like adrenal fatigue. You have said before that you often feel weak and tired, which often coincides with cravings for salty, fatty, sugary foods.
I feel pretty lazy/sluggish than i get fast food and feel good for a few minutes then feel like utter shit. i think the fast food people are onto something
I Just Finished A Beautiful Pasta From Pizza Hut........I Don't Feel In The Least Bit Guilty... Cheers Glen.
I am not a moderator, but I love the tuna from Subway on a cheese bread with red onions, swiss cheese and lettuce and mayo and some jalapenos....and then I put some potato chips on it when I get home.....
Subway is fantastic. I'd eat it every day if I could afford to. I want one of those Happy Gilmore cards good for life.
lol i was eating subway like 4-5 days a week. theres one right next door to my work and its just so convienent
Just watched the first video. Pretty interesting. I wonder if they feel guilty at all, knowing what theyre doing. Probably not as long as theyre making money. Its working though >.<
nothing was deleted here..you probably changed pages before submitting also yes i hate subway..one time they ran the lettuce through the chopper machine after onions without cleaning ...i never ordered there again i dont like onion
I think addictiveness resides on a spectrum. Things like (fast) food are on a lower spectrum than say like drug addiction imo. The thing with food is that pretty much all food highlights reward systems in the brain, meaning this is an activity that makes you want to repeat, as this is a very basic necessity for the body and brain. So really I think one could potentially be as "addicted" to foods perceived as healthier as they could to fast food, surely some people watch their calories and what not to an obsessive extent which could probably border on addiction depending on definition. I won't deny that many fast food places use certain ingredients to make it highlight reward systems and what not but cheaper prices and convenience are variables which probably factor in the higher "addictiveness" of fast foods compared to other foods.
