There's not a day that goes by that I don't walk outside, or drive into town where I don't pass people on the street and ask myself, are they on drugs? Meaning either illegal, or even prescription medicines. Because those are drugs believe it or not. Especially when I talk with kids that have AD/HD or ADD and they're prescribed drugs but they claim to be drug-free straight edge I just want to let them know that they can believe all they want that they're drug free, but drugs over the counter illegal or not are still classified as a drug in my book. So by my calculations I would say that the majority of the U.S. of A. is on drugs, illegal or not. Scary to think isn't it? A drug of some sort that is.
i have a med that controls my blood pressure. supposedly i have a couple of leaky valves on one side of my heart. and if i don't take my pill for a couple of days and check my bp on one of those cuffes the have in the stores, it is indeed sky high, and if i take my pill and check, its within reason. so its fairly reasonable to assume that one is doing what its advertised to do. but that's the only substance i take into my body specifically to modify what it might otherwise be doing. i don't consume recreational neurotropic substances. i mean to each their own as far as i'm concerned, but i find my own imagination more amusing to me then anything i can get from doing anything like that bio-chemically. but i do know what you mean. every problem it seems like the ama or somebody wants to pump a lot of chemicals into everyone. and then there's all the crap you can't pronounce they put into processed foods.
Says something about the human condition when 90% of the population needs to be medicated to deal with every day life!
Weed and beer almost everyday Coffee all day Micro dose of seroquel often to sleep because of all the coffee Off the blow Nice trip once or twice a year to remind me of things I too often forget about.
Its not the human condition. Its the society we live in. It is in fact very UN-human. We are not supposed to be living the way we are.
Anyone read the book "Drugs, why everyone is a user" ? that explains things pretty well. A drug is anything that alters your state of mind and thats a pretty broad defintition so i guess we're all on something
I read an article about henry rollins several years ago and he said he dosnt even use asprin. Dont know if that is still true but it shows that maybe not EVERYONE uses drugs.
You could be right, but i think technically everyday foodstuff counts, chocolate for instance and of course the possability that the food we eat is contaminated with all sorts of things we dont know about could mean we are injesting all sorts of "drugs" we dont know about I do love Henry Rollins though, ever read Black Coffee Blues?
I think almost everyone is... its a big industry y know hahahaha. I try not to take any, unless im really sick. Im already taking a few for very specific physical reasons but anything more than that... nah. ill an orange maybe
I have a strict policy against taking any drug that is legal. The legal stuff is what is really dangerous. Although with new weed laws in my state I may have to amnd that a bit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFZdj5QNmuM"]Bill Maher - Anti-Pharma Rant - YouTube
