is everyone of the younger generation slutty?

I find as the years go on, the skirts are getting shorter, and the clevage is getting plumper, and I'm not sure why. I am kind of leaning towards "slutier" role models in the media, but the parents should be stepping in to direct children in the right direction. They obviously need a hand decideding what is apporopriate to wear and when. As for adults aged 21+, a wild and sexy side is a health side to any personality. It's how you go about expressing it that makes you a slut or not. Responsilble, not flakey...

It seems to me my generation has simply accepted sex as a part of life, not contingent on legal promises... which is good... however...

Most people still do not handle sex and intimate relationships properly.

We lie, cheat, and do selfish things.

So in a world where sexual behavior is more prevalent, the inherant downsides when people engage in it are just made more obvious...

I haven't read this whole thing but here's my two cents:

Define slutty? I'd say I have an average of 2 sex partners per year. I often have sex on the first or second date. However most of those situations are NOT one night stands...they turn into 3-6 month long relationships.

I'm very very pick about who I go out with and sometimes I will go many months without dating at all...just depends on my mood. If I like him enough to accept a date, I probably like him enough to fuck him

i think there are DEFINITELY more "sluts" in the younger generation nowadays, as its "cool" to not be a virgin and hop into bed with anyone and their dog.
as for me, i just turned 17, and, no, im NOT a virgin.but not because i was drunk and randy and willing to do anybody, it was my ex-bf, and i did it because I wanted to! even though i now realize how great sex is and want it more and more, i wouldnt lower myself to the "slut's" level.

 

its hard to define sluts nowadays. back 10 years ago it was any person who went around sleeping with different people. now tho, one night stands are common. Being part of the present teenager group, i would have to say, yes a lot of the girls are 'sluts'. not because they like sex, heck i love sex, but they go out specifically to fuck people and then to brag about how many guys/girls they've had. I listen to people constantly saying " oh yea me and so-and-so did such-and-such, then i did his/her friend" etc etc. i think childhood ends aroun 11-12 now. which is a pity. i notice 11-12 year old girls going out wearing tons of makeup, barley clothed, an just lookin like tarts, goin to disco's, gettin drunk. And guys then tryin to look all cool and shit to impress the girls. its stupid. And is it any wonder there's some many sick pedo's in the world??? Kids are growing up way to fast, childhood shouldn't end so fast. i think i got a bit off topic there....oh well :L

I wouldn't take the jewelry meaning literally. Most girls just like the look of them and some are not even aware of the connotations behind them. All in all the majority of girls won't even do the things just cos they are implied by the jewelry.

 

I have to admit that I somewhat agree with the original post. Girls AND guys are definitely more open to casual sex now, for all kinds of reasons, and it's a bit disturbing.

Over half the population of America is now said to definitely have herpes, and nobody gives a shit. HPV infections are on the rise as well. And 30% of people with HIV don't even know they're infected.

But of course, getting an STD is no big deal. I've actually met people who have had a couple STDs and said it all casually, like it was a pretty common thing. People manage to live with their conditions, and keep having unprotected sex and spreading it... keeping their infection quiet because they don't even CARE about who they're fucking-- it's just an anonymous person so they don't even deserve to know that they're about to get HPV, or herpes, or whatever. And it was all in the name of a good time, so who cares?

And then you have these fucking assholes who cheat on their partners and come home with something and give it to them... putting someone in a position where they have to worry about whether or not they're going to find out they're HIV positive for TWO WHOLE WEEKS is pretty fucking lousy. It's a lousy feeling.

But that is the nature of a lot of modern relationships.

 

My much older co-worker said before the aids break out in the 80's, women were a lot easier in the 70's.

 

I think even younger than that is worse I've seen 10 year olds dressing like they are going to walk the streets. It's ridiculous... and this is coming from a guy!
