Well because people celebrate Christmas, and think Jesus was a nice guy has nothing to do with being a Christian. Those who have truly been Born Again in Christ are those who follow His teachings. Jesus said that in the day of judgement many people would come before Him and say, Lord, Lord, have we not done many wonderful things in your name, and Christ states that He will say to them, depart from me, I never knew you. It takes more than outward appearences to be a Christian, and God knows the true heart.

The fact is the Republican party is strongly supported by the Christian Right for the stand they have taken against abortion. Also what they are finding is that Republican woman have about 40% less abortions than Democratic women and they tend to have larger families. What is happening is there is a growing trend of conserative Americans because there are more children being born into conserative families. If abortion was stopped today this trend would still take about 20 years to turn around. The Democrats without realizing it have literally aborted away their voting base. Democrats will find it increasingly harder in each election to gather the votes they need to win elections because of their abortion stand. This understanding is soon going to be a fact of life here in American politics. Demographics are on the side of the Republicans, and this trend will be almost unstoppable. There is a very good article about this on line titled, the Cradel will Rock.

i'm not saying they're not christians, but that you probably understand christianity better than they do. but that's irrelevant anyway. the point is, if you're just looking at numbers, there' smore people calling themselves christians than not, and just looking at the numbers, there's bound to be more of them having abortions. i'm not really even considering the whole "sinnin' whore" aspect. ;)

i bet you never follow good adive when you hear it, either, huh?

naturally these laws are fairly universally useful in the continuance of a society that doesnt' wanna go down in a ball of flames. i don't care WHO gave the advice, if it's worked for a long time, who am i to completely disregard it?

    Well, that depends, obviously.

What on earth are you talking about now?

Challenging tired old laws is not disregarding anything...It is part of progress.

Well yes it is like those who call America a Christian nation. It may have Christians in the nation, but the nation is far from Christian.

I believe that the USA is indeed a christian nation representing christian ideals on a world scale. Didn't the christian lobby get GWB into office?

I was trying to make a point, looking at the bigger picture. I did not say anything about who is at fault. The Western world has done a lot of damage, this is true. But Muslims have brains and hearts of their own too. I would like nothing more than for ALL of us to get our problems straightened out.

christianity isnt under attack, its simply obsolete & rotting from the inside..the attack you feel is simply caring people who only seek to put christianity out of its misery & liberate all those still trapped in its outdated thinking

Of course not, but it's the closest thing to a united country there is. At least at times in the past.
