Didn't homer have an African American friend at work? What I think they should try is like integrate that guy into the show in a way that doesn't stereotype him or totally ignore him either.
The Simpsons should totally hire you to micromanage the show with the stereotypes and representations that you feel appropriate for each character. What could possibly go wrong
I think everyone should act white. Then nothing will be racist anymore. The Simpsons is perfect just the way it is. But it could stand to be reimagined to where no one runs a convenience store. Or if they do, it should be some completely unnoteworthy...no, wait...that's unfair to clerks. It should be someone super cool. How about Poochie the dog? Or is that saying that clerks are dogs...? Oh, bother, there's no way to have a clerk. Actually, most of the characters on the Simpsons are stereotypes. So maybe it should just be Friends. Except they're all white...damn! Maybe it should just be a show where people of all races hold hands across the globe and sing.
i like what you're thinking, but i know some people who would feel bad about it. it's essentially making everything "white" but not realizing that part of the audience is not. There's a book about it but I don't know that you want to read quotes and I feel like it's not totally ethical for me to post them anyway as they're not a part of my true vernacular. Anyway. Yes.
Carl is the black friend, Lenny is the white friend. Homer forgets which is which so he writes it on his hand. I named my cats after them so I could tell my cats apart. Carl The Cat is grey and Lenny The Cat is Orange. Lenny and Carl The Cats.
Maybe they should turn all of Springfield into an all-yellow alt-right ethnostate so they don’t have to worry about offending easily offended NPCs like you anymore. That’s the direction it’s heading it seems . Apu is a positive stereotype toward hard working immigrants. You may bitch about his thick accent, but what first generation American immigrant doesn’t have a thick accent? Now the democrats want to deport him. A hard working true American.
Have we determined that "Democrats" want to "deport" the man? He's a cartoon character, and I don't think critics of the cartoon have anything against him, as opposed to Matt Groening. You're following the right wing SOP propaganda playbook of seizing on some outrage put forward by a minority of people who happen to be progressives and extending it to "Democrats". I'm a Democrat and don't give a rats ass whether Apu stays or goes. It's a trivial issue. Get a life.
If you had some Cambridge credits, worked at FEMA, and was a NASA mission controller like Ed fucking Harris in Apollo 13, you'd understand. Nope, you'd just be full of shit.
