But that's the thing, it really didn't have its moments because any moment it had, I'd already seen on Facebook 6 months prior.
This is a tosh show. 4x clips I've already seen 1x Web redemption of a clip I've already seen including in depth analysis from a fuck wit who has nothing better to do than put the person down. Followed up by a bit of am I or am I not gay? 6x clips I've already seen before 1x clip I've already seen before with running commentary of Tosh spurting as many racist, sexist and offensive jokes as possible. 2x more clips we've seen before and Tosh then goes to push his homosexual tenancies and thought process. Thanks for watching, tune in next week. Yeah, thanks. I look forward to it. Fuck wit.
I don't use facebook, nor scour the internet for viral videos so maybe it had a bit more appeal to me, the idea of a web redemption was slightly amusing to me.
Oh GB. I can't mother a child with someone who watches Tosh. And likes him. I'm sorry, it can't happen. Lol.
Yeah, I guess if you're worried about what's cool, that can be a factor. I'm at the point in my life where I don't give a shit what's cool and what isn't. If something makes me smile and have a good time, that's enough for me. I don't follow trends.
Hi I'm tosh, I literally don't have anything to say, here's a video of my bum. I'm not gay LOL but heres a video of my bum and some jokes about sticking things in my bum and like LOL am I gay?
Still going on about that I said I hadn't watched him in 10 years. He was born in Germany, I'm surprised you loathe him so much.
My dad introduced me to south Park. My mum hated him for it. it was cool because technically it wasn't a show for under 18. I believe this a huge factor in its popularity among youth into 30 year olds today it was considered kind of taboo at the time. The teachers didn't like it either, which pushed everyone to watch it and quote it more. Fun fact. I was the first person in my HS to have a southpark hat. And everybody wanted it. Actually Im pretty sure it was stolen off me. My dad was cool like that, he'd always knock on my room door "hey, come check this out" it was always something cool at the time. Whether south Park or he found a documentary with ICP in it.
Strange I feel the same. But skipping or changing comedy characters won't change that. It just adds to the divide and misunderstanding. Adding better characters that represent such minorities in the same or other shows likely will. I'm not the one who is intolerant of 'faulty' characters. You are. That I'm not doesn't say shit about my (in)tolerance for certain minorities. Hope you can grasp that because you're really wrong in that assertion You were talking about political correctness. PC is simply an abbreviation of that.
This is about the attitude toward minorities, that it's not ok to portray stereotypes, and the general not caring about the consequences of said portrayal. My point is that you seem to be in the camp of not caring about the consequences of stereotypes. If you want to call me out for wanting the Simpsons to be a better example, go right ahead. But I sure as shit am not the one who is demonstrating intolerance. I feel like what you're saying is adequate, but I still think you have a problem with minorities simply because you aren't really standing up for them. Because anyone can see that they need our help. I'm glad you feel the same, that minorities are underrepresented. That's immensely important!
What if Apu lost the accent? Would he be portrayed differently in today's society? I would probably say yes, because it's the accent and the way he speaks that makes him such a fun, memorable character. And if that accent does make a difference, then my next question is, if a large percent of the minority in questions does have this similar accent (let's face it it, it's an exaggerated cartoon) then isn't it racist to portray them differently with a monotone white man creation?
Maybe there can be an episode where Trump revokes Apu's citizenship and he's deported...and that's the last we see of Apu. Flanders can lead the charge wearing a MAGA hat.
I think the basic question is: is Apu a sympathetic character or do we think of him as a buffoon. I don't watch the show enough to answer that. I do know that every time I try to book travel through Expedia, I end up talking to several people who sound a lot like Apu. They seem competent and get me to where I wanted to go, so I can't complain.
The Simpsons should just feature characters of color who all act completely white as fuck so it won't be racist anymore. Racist? Who knows, there might have been an Indian convenience store operator who loved Apu. What was racist about him? He spoke with an accent? I guess he should talk white. He worked at a convenience store? I guess he should have been a millionaire so it wouldn't be racist. If I was the Simpsons I would have just said f.u. to everybody and kept Apu just the way he was. 'Cause people aren't perfect.
It feels kind of like people are missing the point on this. As for whiteness, that's also bad because it would largely go unnoticed. Perhaps a re-imagining of the Simpsons is an opportunity!
