i appreciate the help, but after 45000 posts there's guaranteed to be one or two duds.

also, i often wonder how many times i've made the same post multiple times without realizing it. i get deja vu quite a bit when posting these days.

True. But that one there... you weren't even trying.

Anyway it's just a thing I encounter often in life (I mention running and someone tells me about being the opposite, "I only run to catch the bus ho ho ho" and such) so my response has become more sarcastic and rude.

Mostly because I always feel it's some kind of dig at me.

no, in my case at least it's absolutely a dig at running.

really, if running is the kind of exercise that works for you, that's great. it's just the kind of exercise that is literally the worst for me, because i'm miserable while i'm doing it and then when i'm done my knees swell up like crazy and i can't do anything for the next few days.

on a different subject, i'm not trying in a lot of my posts. i'm just a natural, i guess.

  4. I would love to be a runner because I could get my cardio done faster. Knees won’t let me so I walk Try to stay at at least 4 and 1/2 miles per hour. Keep running as long as you can.

But the act of running is just.the.worst
I much prefer a brisk walk

Oh yeah, and hello new person. I should probably say hey to you before I jump in this random conversation in your thread

The reason most people suffer physically from running is not learning good form.

But yes, whatever, most people seem to dislike it.

It's just the way people tend to let me know that in a tone of voice that implies people who DO enjoy it are kind of wacky. I don't really care what they think, but it happens often enough that they're now going to get sarcastic responses. Just like the people who say "ha ha can't you afford shoes then?"

I value originality above most else,in most areas.

actually, it seems to make my mind kind of fuzzy. any cardio really, but it seems more noticeable with running. no idea what it means.

I do cardio bodywieght based exercises lost 8 pounds so far. it’s like I do body weight exercises then I do some cardio recovery it helps move the heartbeat around burning more calories but since I’m not that fit I lose breath quite quick.

what do you mean? like body weight exercises some days and cardio on your off days? or cardio between the body weight sets? or something else?

your last statement is why i really need to get better at doing cardio; i get out of breath too easily. weight lifting is my favorite form of intentional exercise, but it always takes me too long to catch my breath between sets. it's actually gotten better lately and i'm not sure why since i'm not doing any more cardio, but i can't complain anyway.

    Hello Runner woman.
    I'm new here.
I've been a barefoot runner since high school many years ago. To me there is nothing like barefoot running.
I live barefoot unless I go some place where shoes are required.
Hope you find some nice people here.

I have the perfect excuse for NOT running - my Surgeon told me not to!!! - I have metal hips and knees and am not allowed to undertake high impact exercises (this, of course includes running).
