Erm ok, here I go. ^^ My name is Jade (I get called El J a lot) and I live in England. I've been meaning to sign up to this forum for such a long time and now I've finally gotten around to it.

I love art, my whole life literally revolves around art- fine art, literature, music, performing, etc. I just love expressing myself really. My favourite is fine art and I've been known to draw around 5 pictures a day.

I also enjoy animals and the outdoors, I'm currently enrolled in the Duke of Edinbrough (can't spell, sorry) award so I will hopefully enjoy all of the camping. I've had many pets through my life: a rabbit, guinea pig and 4 fish who have all died of old age, and still alive are my 2 cats and hamster.

When I'm older I hope to go to the Amazon Rainforest to do some work protecting the animals (mainly monkeys) from harm and poachers and stuff. Because of this I'm learning Spanish (only because I did it before in the past) and Portuguese (which I shall start once I've finished re-doing Spanish).

Most people have put something about music, so I will too. =3 I'm not one to usually follow the crowd mind you. I'll listen to all music (appart from those scary heavy metals, and songs that talk about death in a bad way) because I'm a very adaptable person.

Erm I think that's about it. I'm really tired so I can't think properly. If I remember something tomorrow I'll edit my post and put it in. Until then, adios amigos!

Edit: Ah yes, when I'm a bit older I hope to start smoking weed and probably drawing/painting stuff while I'm high. That'd be a good experience for me. =)

^Hey the Amazon is cool! When I graduate from High School I'd like to travel throughout South America.

My name is Karim and I live in San Francisco. I'm a kinda neo-hippie, and, as is the case with many here, I wish I was living in the 60s. I love smoking weed, and just chillin out, watching movies, and reading.

I'm only 17, so i'm still searching for my own personal spirituality, and looking for the meaning of life.

As for music, I love psychedelic and blues-based rock that came out of the 60s and 70s. My favorite bands/artists are Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix (as my sig and username suggests), the Beatles, the Doors, Ten Years After, Pink Floyd, Cream, and others.
I also love the blues, from any era. I've been playing guitar for a few years now, and I really enjoy it.

My political views are radical left-wing, I consider myself a bit of a marxist, or a Democratic Socialist.

I love writing, photography, and I attend an Arts High School for Visual Arts (drawing and stuff).

    That pretty much it.

    Hello everyone,
Peace and love to all. I've been browsing these forums for a few years now but i've only just registered today. I'm Rachel, i'm 19 and i'm from Scotland. I think this site is great and I love browsing through all the forums and reading alll the different responses. Hopefuly now i'm a amember I may be posting some threads as well. I study in Scotland's largest city Glasgow (Although it's the largest, it's not the capital). I'm in my second year of my Masters of Arts degree in English Literature. I also study Psychology, but my main passion is English Literature. I don't know what i'm going to do after I graduate. My dream is to travel the world with my amazing friends in a campervan. It would be a greta experience, I hope I don't have a 9-5 job, that relaly isn't my scene. I guess i've always had "hippyish" inclines, sorry about the stereotyping, you all know what I mean though. I've never had dreams of a designer wardrobe and a suited husband, two cars and children that have a private education. I would also love to experience life in a commune! Think of the people you could meet, even if you just did it for six months or so. I want to do all these things, but I feel sometimes that life is passing me by and i'm not doing anything about it, maybe I should have done all these things when I was 17..? I would love to meet a man, settle down in the country and raise wonderfuly happy and healthy hippie children. Keep things simple...Also I am partial to smoking one of earth's greatest gifts..WEED! I really enjoy all aspects of the 60s, cliched or what? My music tastes are very much influenced fom this era, The Doors, Led Zep, The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix etc, i'm also a big fan of Johnny Cash, and elctro stuff too. I like a lot of new music like The Yeah Yeahs, Hot Chip, Anyway, this is supposed to be an introduction and I haven't done it very well. I welcome anyone that wants to chat. I would be thrilled if young people with similar interests in Scotland got in touch too! thanks x

Hello. My name is Jhann (John, if you want to look at a birth certificate...).

I come from an upper-middle class family, have alot of relatives that I don't really get along with, and a few that I do. I am eighteen at the moment, male. I'm currently at Louisiana Tech, in Ruston, but I'm going on a sort of journey to find myself at the end of the quarter, and probably won't come back.

I'm a philosopher, a dreamer, I smoke weed and do shrooms, on occasion. I've been known to try more... potent things in my time, but tend to stick to the basics.

My motivation in life is to become a writer, and have my big 'mountain community,' in which the basics are provided, and free thought (not laziness) is all that you need to achieve.

I like to talk, about myself, and my ideas, of course, but mostly about concepts that people don't generally talk about. Death, relationships between people, the impossibility of coincidence, and the era of Free Thinkers. Fate, Karma, choice, individuality, oneness, all are touched upon, all are argued. I guess I'm just a thinker, a debater, and a philosophical spiritualist...

    Well hey guys.

I'm Samski, and I just wanted to officially become a part of this forum. I can't remember how I came across this site, but I must say it's the best one I've found in a very long time. I'm just looking for people who can relate to the kind of partying I'm into (weed, drinking, etc.). The main reason I joined was to search through the threads hoping the find something interesting. :) I'm also looking for some really cool hemp/glass bead necklaces, if anyone is interested in sending me a picture with a necklace you might want to sell.

    Just a thought. :)
    Lata.

    How... specific.

You should open up your musical tastes a bit, though... at least to uh.. other eras and themes :D. You're missing out on a lot. Now, I'm not putting you down or anything, for that... but, you know, it's just an observation. People get too up in arms when I'm in my critical moods.

I mean, don't get me wrong... I probably like more older stuff than newer stuff, myself, but I just get so sick of the elitist "oh, I only listen to the doors" kinda mentality, or people who insist that they witnessed the music when it was released or something. :D Not saying you do this, but.. you know. It's just one of those pet peeves, when you generally are into musicianship/engineering/artistry or whatever... People always have to complicate everything or limit themselves. All you're doing is degressing... which is why I believe people who just don't care about religion or whatever are wrong. It would be nice if everyone would be so inclined as to take it in for themselves, but.... excuse me if I'm wrong-- I live in the USA... or at least within the realms of Babylon and Western society, and the American way is to shoot first, ask questions later, if it breaks, blame it on the next person under you... if you even feel like it. Not that we're a bad country, but we do horrible things and allow our government to run astray, these days. Our president has become a Maverick prick amongst the herd... You can both see and feel that in that frame of thinking.

It'd be an atrocity and an absolute horror to say this continent I live on, hasn't been a shelter for everyone and it truly isn't home of the brave, to me. It's home to those who left the only things they had and family behind them in other countries because they had enough faith that we would be there for them and that we would help them or give them a hand in some kind way... and we shouldn't change that. It's been that way since my Cherokee, Algonquinn, and Seminole ancestors came here, all the way down to my mom who just became a US citizen, last year. Anything anyone else says is a load of horseshit, if I've ever seen one... and that I have.

I live about ten miles from the Mattaponi Reservation, containing the last 3000 remaining native Algonquinn descendents of the Powhatan tribe... being an eighth, I'm eligable to live on that reservation, and I'm also a grandson of the Rolfe, Custis, and Lee family, which makes me kin to all three Martha Custis Washington, Robert E. Lee, and Pocahontas' bloodline, though I'm only related to Martha by marraige into the Lees, Washingtons, Paynes, and Spotswood; of which, Alexander Sr., was the head of the first royal governing body of the Virginia colony. My point is--is that, either Captain John Smith or Captain Christopher Newport told the Powhatan tribe; the reigning Algonquinn tribe stretching from the Potomac River; that they were on the run from the Spanish. The natives took them in because they felt they should have been treated as brothers, and made honorary members of the tribe, because of thise. The natives had feared the Spaniards for hundreds of years and, despite being weary and afraid, felt it was better to befriend the English and Scots-Irish sailors, to have stronger allies against the Spanish forces that were invading at the dawn of the modern ages... We dishonored that trust, and that is why I am alive here today. We should, at the least, make an example out of that, but except for Mattaponi and Algonquinn texts that I've personally read, all of that is unwritten history, though we (the Mattaponi Reservation and citizens commemorating the 1607-2007 400th aniversay of Jamestown, are working on publishing that and making them available as a book, to the public, right now. It's something that has never been done and includes things most history people have never heard or only wondered/guessed.) It's another local grassroots effort we're working on.

You have to make things work for you, because it's not going to bend for you... People are so feeble-minded to act like that isn't what you're supposed to do, but it's the only thing that would make any sense to me.

I was a vegan for a few years, I've also been a vegetarian, I've also followed that with an Ital stance. The only thing I ever didn't really get is raw vegan. It's better for you to just not eat, or limit, processed foods. You know, it is really good for you if you don't get all extremist about it on either side (people who don't eat meat so much or at all, people who hunt, etc.)... you can lose your period or really mess up alot of your little "internal clocks" and what have you. Other than that, anything else you hear on either side is pretty much a bunch of elitist, self-induced, pseudo-altruistic, hype, not that there's anything wrong with that, but you know, I guess I just prefer to hear it told to my face. You used to have to chase an animal for a really long time before you ever ate that meat, which is why I'd rather hunt than buy it from the store... at least buy it from a family farm or something. Atop that, I've held both a membership in Peta and the National Rifle Association (I also hold a saltwater/freshwater license in Virginia and North Carolina, as well as hunting licenses for 2007), in fact, at the same time, at one point... But Peta is headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia and if you aren't a sportsman of some sort and live in Virginia, you're in the minority... though I'm glad the huntclubs around here haven't bowed down to the Swamp Yankees and Bluenecks so much, unless everyone is like "hell yeah jimbob, Ali Abdul should bring his compound bow!!!" or whatever. Oh yeah, I'm also a member of Greenpeace USA, Habitat For Humanity, the Southern Bapist Convention as well as being a Unitarian atop that, Sons of Confederate Veterans (1-800-MY-DIXIE), and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (which I started volunteering for, cleaning and replenishing oyster beds and reefs, when I was ten years old). If there's a good vice you can have to make up for any bad vices, a guilty conscience, or any weight on your shoulders, charity helps that. It helps my depression, at least...

Oh yeah, again, we live... here. Or at least I do. We're not allowed to do all of that at the same time because it defies expectations and adds technicality to charachter or whatever.

I know... none of these have to do with music, but.. in a way, it really does, in my region. History has many effects on music.

    Hi!
My name is Lynsey. I am 25 and live in San Diego, CA.

I like to read, cook, bake, go to the beach, snorkel, wake board, hike, go to happy hour, wine tasting, vacation, watching food tv and taking naps with my girlfriends, visiting baha and napa valley for a night or two, playing with my dogs and of course I love to shop. I am a clothes horse.

I work at a non-profit as an administrator. I love it, but am horrible at it. I am a really bad supervisor and try to cover peoples mistakes instead of dealing with the person. I don't want to ruin somones day because they did something wrong and hate having that power.
I am also a freelance writer and corperate trainer. I love to work-a lot. I recently cut my hours down so I can start on my master's. I want to be a child psychologist. I chose a program that is 75 percent internships and hands-on experience and the rest on-line so that I can be free to move around.

I also volunteer as a court-appointed advocate for kids with special needs and foster kids. I make sure the legal system is issueing everything that these kids are entitled to and that they get fair representation. I love it. This is new for me. In fact I just started volunteering a few weeks ago. I am still learning and have only helped outside the courtroom thus far. Doing this has made me realize I want to be a child psychologist for the courts to help determine placements and treatments alongside the social worker.

I like to stay very busy. I get depressed and suffer from anxiety if I am not always doing something. The only time I can relax is if I am on vacation and away from home or if my insomnia is really bad and it's the middle of the night.

I also love the ocean. I think I was meant to be born a dolphin. I love everything to do with it-snorkeling, surfing, swimming, sailing-I just love water. Maybe because i'm a Leo and a fire sign. I just NEED water to feel calm. I take a lot of showers and baths and sit there and let the water fall on my head. I like hot weather and cool water.

I also love meeting new people, from all different backgrounds. I appreciate and love diversity and am one of the most non-judgemental people you will ever meet even though most assume the opposite. I feel like I am often wrongly judged and that I am very misunderstood. I have accepted this and one of the hardest things is understanding why-so I stopped because I hate playing the victim and letting others control me. Sometimes there are things you don't understand and you grow to not care about the 'why factor' anymore. That's one of my proudest accomplishments-dissmissing all of the people in my life who seek to keep me in a little box and control my emotions. Being in complete control of my emotions and thoughts is the best feeling in the world to me.

The other thing that makes me feel complete is doing nice things for others. I love cooking for my family and baking for my friends, staff and volunteers. I am the co-worker who will unintentionaly spoil your diet with brownies, truffles and cookies. I love to give and make people feel good about themselves. I like being a sounding board for family and friends. I also treat myself well. I strongly believe that if you feel together on the inside your outside should reflect that. You will never catch me without a fresh manicure, blown-out hair and a cute outfit. I think this really sets a strong tone about how your expect others to treat you. I do not expect the same out of other people though. I understand some people are more casual and those people tend to have a more casual view about life, which I like and appreciate about them. Especially with guys, I love a guy who is comfy in flip flops, cargos and a sweatshirt. I love guys who are fun. Men are definitley a weakness of mine-in a good way!

My biggest struggles in life are not smoking, insomnia, my weight an being financialy responsible. I am a closet smoker. Everyone assumes that I am still quit, but I sneak one almost everyday. With the insomnia-I can't sleep. I will fall asleep at 3 only to wake up at 5. I am lucky in the fact that my job allows for a flexible schedule. I usually work from 6-2 or 3. I feel like I don't need sleep and then after several days will get exhausted and crash for a good 12 hours. Then I'll repeat it all over again. With my weight I have always struggled. I fluctuate from being a size 4 to a size 12 often-usually within several months. I also go between existing on coffee to eating raw to eating tons of sugar and carbs and fatty foods. I truely think this is affected by the seasons-not emotions. I am a recovering bulimic, which has been suprisingly easy. A very easy recovery after 10 years of doing that-I am extremley lucky.

Me pet peeves are-laziness, greed, people who are judgemental, racism, traffic on the 15 and 5, when people put whipped cream on my mocha-I hate whipped cream (yes even in bed :D), people who put friends over family, lack of motivation and determination and jay-walking pedestrians.

My favorite things are-champagne, hot sake, cute stickers, dogs, unicorns, sushi, cosmopolitans, coconuts, hearts, flowers, the color periwinkle, unusually large coffee cups and shoes.

Well, anywho nice to meet everyone! I enjoyed reading about you and getting to know you better :D.

My name is Ashley and I'm 15. I live in a small suburban hell of a neighborhood and am currently trying to escape to either Spain or Russia where I will study somewhere maybe.
I just got back from Russia three days ago and haven't really left my house due to culture shock and depression (( I've spent the last three days reading about Romania and studying Braille.
Today though I'll go to New York City and stay there for however long.
    I love The Doors.
I hate wasting my time and I consider wasted time as time spent doing something other than what I want at the moment.
I usually don't care what people are doing as long as they aren't telling me what to do.
I am quite pragmatic but not oblivious to bigger things.
    I hate clothes.
    I love freedom.

    Take it easy. )

Hello! I'm Kelsie and I'm fifteen years young from upstate New York, USA. I enjoy everything artistic - from drawing to sewing to poetry and beyond. I have three pets who I love very much. I am also an AP student, but just not in math. I'm unsure of what my religion is, but I'm trying to figure that out. The rest of my life is pretty boring. Peace out!
