Well my name is Olie, I'm a 22yr old guy from a little microscopic city known as Gloucester in s/w England.

I'm gay and am out well only to my mates....not been brave enough to tell my family yet hehehe.

I studied computer studies at college but completly lost interest and left. since that I've been in and out of jobs, sadly got made redundant from a job I loved doing in Bristol, and I've been forced to work 2 nights a week at Tesco :(

I'm hoping to learn a foreign language fluently I did French & Spanish at school, but forgot most of it, I'm interested in learning Korean, Japanese & Turkish...and maybe teaching abroad.

I'm a huge fan of music especially Bjork, David Bowie, & Tori Amos...I love going to gigs, meeting new people, travel... I've been to India, Jordan (kinda), Cyprus, Canada, USA, France, I'm going away in September, but don't know where to yet, and I'm hopefully visiting my cousin in Australia next August wooo!. I also love learning about foreign cultures, and languages.

I hope to meet many new interesting people on here.

    Love Olie

    Hey all!

My names Stacy, my favorite color is yellow. I'm a libra. I like long walks on the beach and... erm.. wait- no...
(well a long walk on the beach is fun. especially barefoot with the sand between the toes... haha)

    For real though:

im 18 and live in Jersey. Im in college. I travel as much as possible and am hoping to do a year abroad (just need money). Im a huge deadhead- have been my whole life. Grew up on good music like that. Im passionate about anything and everything, frequently helping with rallies and protests or campaigns- guess im a bit of an activist. I love art, reading, writing, music, nature... Give me a camera or a sketch pad and a pack and i'm content :) I love animals and young children. I love traveling. Im really into anthropology and the environement, and those can be mixed to do fun stuff (research. yes i said it- fun research) hmm.... guess thats about it.

I try to pass the time (other then schooling and working) hiking/backpacking, sculpting/sketching/taking photos/painting, going to shows, listening to or playing (well, erm..trying to play) music, writing, reading, watching good movies, chillin with friends.. whatever!
Im cheery and outgoing. I love meeting new friends- so feel free to say 'hi!'. I try to have the most positive outlook on everything i can. I'm cheesy and im a dork. im very eclectic (if youve seen my posts before youve noticed i tend to ramble and make random comments) but im convinced its a good thing.

I'm done talking about myself though.

    You should go IM Sugaree13s

    ok thats better..
Well, i'm Dave, but a lot of people call me Kiszkan (said Kisch-ken), but whatever. I'm also the Guru.(you know it works when u dont give yourself the title) i'm 18 and chillin in the midwest right now -- portage, IN. thats by chicago. i did the college thing for a year, but i knew everything so it was boring... i'm not a know-it-all. No, really, i'm not! i'm just really smart. which kinda means that i've been dubed the chemist by my friends and get to make all ******************** well for legal reasons......**

i've got long red hair. hhmmm yea thats right. iono y. trying to decide whether or not to let it dread....any suggestions?

Where to start now.. i'm a bass player. i'm in a band (or two (or three) depending on stuff) but mainly just one - Undecided. i'm in it with three of my closest friends - my buddy Aaron, and, the twins, Jim & Jon. Our drummer changes too often to be counted.

    as far as my standings.
    Drugs: All natural, baby!
    Pot: Legalize it!
Politics: Bush Sux, So does Kerry but he's the lesser of two evils, butnobody else will accomplish anything because of the Rep/Dem split of congress/house.
Music: I love it all, i play it all.
    Religion: Find your own path!
Violence: Totally against it. Pacifist since 8th grade!
    Vegitarianism: i havent decided yet...

I do tai-chi, Practice ESP, and manipulate my chi.
    i meditate and concentrate
and maybe someday something good will come from all of it.
oh and i want to start yoga soon.

Thats about it....wow, that was pretty long...

Do you know what i hate?....having 500+ posts on this thing...and having to get a new account after the hipforums little "update frenzy of boredom"

Hey everyone, Charlene is the name..Im 17 years old and reside in BC Canada..its actually really awesome here.
I have no idea what to write really..im really free spirited i guess you could say.I play the drums, guitar and piano by ear...and i listen to anything from the oldies...to grindcore thrash metal..indie.hxc...all the "scene" genres....the indie rock..the punk rock..the jazz/blues...im a music whore. Aside from music, i love camping, art and spoken word poetry...im getting into poi and longboarding/skateboarding (meerly for travel)...aaaand im interested in

    music
    moshing.
    writing.
    Cliff Jumping.
    shows
    surfing
    poetry.
    culture
    friendship
    opinion
    belief
    expression
    Taoism
    Buddhism
    Rastafari
    sleeping under stars.
I also have this obsession with fire.and dancing to ska and james brown while I cook. There just is no other way..

My future plans are to travel. And live...thats what life is to me...i learn so much more from people. I just want to get as close as i can to dancing the vibration of a guitar string. I hate the fact that people cant take peace as an awnser to anything....i hate when people expect me to trudge through the political bullshit and mazes of society to get to one opinion i know i have...and will not be tweaked in different directions that should all say one thing. In terms of religion...i guess you could say religion couldn't exist without emotion....emotion without love and so forth.. you seek hate?...violence?..death?...love brought you to that somehow.. well....as you can see my thoughts are scattered..i like it that way..I guess you could also say that im somewhat of a drifter/loner...im not a fan of being tied down. I hope to eventually travel all across the world, and meet people. No fixed adress sounds pretty much like heaven on earth right about now..but I would love to eventually go into multicultural/music journalism..because i've been told, i write more then i speak. I love just finding people to mellow out with...the people that make silence enjoyable, comfortable..and the people that make me think...

I hope to evetually meet some of you and digitally connect with the rest.
    vibe the chai-
    im off to the beach.

    Charlene

You're an idiot. You know how anything is started? By somebody complaining. How are the good laws passed? mass loads of people protesting against the shit ones. Why was electricity invented, a LOT of people complained about how shit their gas lamp were, so where the hell did you get the idea that complaining and repetitiveness is bullshit? It only takes one more repetitive thing for someone to get their perception changed completely.

He is obviously just voicing his opinions because as Martin Luther King said 'We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead.'

Also your stereotyping is typical, try to come up with an original one.

But I agree with one thing, you should shut up

Hi, im aranyria... I am pretty new to these boards. lets see... i love the Beatles, and John Lennon on his own... I don't think I am a hippy. I believe in all the hippy stuff except maybe for some of the drugs) but I cant really practice any of it in my area here. maybe one day I'll find a non-online hippy community...that would be great. tell me if you know of any, LOL.

Im trying to learn to play the drums, i listen to Ringo for that. nature deserves was more respect than our government is giving it. i hope someday to travel... after college, i hope to travel to China, teach people English who want to learn. I like making my own clothing, maybe I'll be a designer someday if Dad doesn't get overn his lawyer thing.

I really want to learn a lot of languages, by talking to people in other countries. I am really interested in different culture. And I don't know what the heck my president is doing. o, and i really want a new hippy movement so we can change the world.

I'm intrested in Taoist and Paganism, but i could never convert cuz of my family... that sucks but o well.

well, i had a lot to say there and most of it doesn't make sense. Peace!

There's so much hostility here, so much bad karma. Is there a need for all of this arguing and cursing? Besides, we're getting off topic.

Hello. I'm new to this site so I thought my first post should be introducing myself. My name is Kari, I'm 15 and I live in New York State. I work at my town's library and I just finished my sophomore year of High School. My favorite subject is English because I want to be a professor of English. I also play flute in the school's concert band.
I was recently selected to play congas in my school's jazz group. I am very excited because I will be able to travel and there will be many more clinics and learning experiences available to me. The best part is that I will be able to improvise! What is a better way to express yourself through music than to improvise? I hope that I will be able to bring my audience into the same state of mind and emotion that I come to when I play.
I am also involved in my school's drama program.
I love to write poetry, short stories and attempt to write novels. I read alot of philosophy, psychology and poetry, especially poetry by Lawrrence Ferlinghetti and Emily Dickenson. I just finished "Buddhism Is Not What You Think" by Steve Hagen and I was blown away. It was a beutiful book and made Zen very understandable (especially for young readers like myself). Each chapter was a meditation session of its own. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Zen.
I like to make things and any time I can, I use natural materials. I like to make hemp jewelry and I use ofcourse, natural hemp and only wood and clay beads. I also draw portraits for people, hopefully I will be able to post one of my drawings. I have been a vegetarian for a while. I am a pacifist and I get really frustrated about racial and gender equality. I am pro-life except for in cases such as rape or if the child will cause harm to the mother. I am also for gay marriage. Generally, I am very open to different political views and I think that the more I learn, then the better opinion I will have.

    What I dig:
music- Phish, Radiohead, Janis Joplin, Jazz/Latin jazz, Blue man Group and cultural music from India
activities- hiking, meditation, learning, expanding my mind, jamming, loving, cruising, chillin

    THEY CALL ME "Hippy"

    Thanks for reading!

    Hey!

I posted in the "introduce yourself" section too but I'll probably post here the most so I'll say hi here!

My name is Lindsay, and I'm going into highschool next year. I love music. My favorite bands/singers are Bob Dylan, The Doors, HIM, Thursday, John Lennon, Janis Joplin and Savatage, among others.

I'm a vegetarian now and as soon as I move out of my parents house I'm going vegan. I try to get involved in local activism as much as possible. I cant think of much else...

    ~Peace~

Good day to you all. I am Brian and I am 15 years old. Call me, as most do, White Raven.

I am looking forward to conversing on these forums for a very long time.

I guess the main things you need to know about me are that I practice Shamanism/animism in my religious life, I am a young aspiring poet/writer, and my political affiliation, though I say apolitical, can more be defined as tribalist. I write in order to further the tribalist movement as described in the writings of Daniel Quinn. I'm sure I'll be talking about this a lot.

I am a huge cynic. This is, however, discounted by my persistent optimism towards it (contradiction?). What I mean is that most people call me a "happy pessimist." I like to expect the worst so I won't be disappointed, but I won't let it bring me down so that I can't change the outcome of a situation.

Overall, I am incredibly liberal. Most would call me extremist liberal, because I don't have any gripes about anyone. That's why I'm here: I need some other liberal people to associate with.

I am extremely fascinated by Native American and African traditional religions. I take my Shamanistic beliefs and integrate them with African and other Native American religions.

Despite all my liberal beliefs, I am not a vegetarian (I feel the need to defend this up-front instead of later on). I believe that because humans are animals and other animals eat meat that it is arrogant to think that we are above eating meat. I have no qualms with vegetarians if that's what they want to do, but there is no logical reason that I see to do it myself. I believe that all life, including plant life, is sacred and ever-flowing. It's the animist in me.

Musically, I'm inclined toward ethnic/tribal traditional music, rock from the 60's and 70's, as well as modern rock (i.e., Incubus, Evanescence, etc.). I guess my favorite artist would be Tracy Chapman. However, I can listen to pretty much any kind of music.

I can't wait to get to know all of you and engage in some stimulating conversation.

    Hi:)
My name is DesireƩ and I live in Jacksonville Beach. I just moved here from Elmhurst-a burb of Chicago. I lived here a couple of years ago, but my family decided it would be great to move to suburbia. I've grown a terrible distaste for Illinois and have ventured on my own back home.
While in Elmhurst, I swam on York's swim team along with Elmhurst Swim Team. I was one of the best swimmers and am still practicing for the day I can join yet another team. I also played water polo and did gymnastics for York. I also snowboard and surf. A wonderful mix of things...soon enough I'll start dancing again...I love Russian Classical Ballet. I used to be a hardcore dancer, but found a different calling in the pool...
I worked for DNR in Springfield for 5 months, repairing artifacts for the illinois state museum and setting up the "Where Animals Dance, Art of Africa" exhibit. That was a blast.
Lets see...what else? I'm so terrible at this kind of stuff. I wish I had a picture to show you all. I'll figure out this scanner thingie sometime...
I love 60's and 70's music like the Doors, Dead, Beetles, Mamas and the Papas and about 50 other bands. I'm in love with Bob Marley and would have dated him had I been old enough/alive when he was.
ummm...I play guitar-poorly, but I'm workin on it and alto saxophone real well. I love hiking and biking...hehe, that rhymed...

I suppose I'm done wasting everyones time, I highly doubt anyone will actually read this. It's not entirely fascinating, but I don't know how to describe myself. I suppose I could try harder some other time;)
