I've heard and read the current state of things in the world to no end, and it seems things are coming to a head. Sorta like the calm before ww1. It's all so surreal. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I hear all kinds of crazy stuff about the current state of the world. Most worrying imo is that most is just crazy stuff used to validate apathy and fatalistic behavior. We can’t do anything about it so I will just use the ostrich method and keep chasing my slice of pie (otherwise someone else will!)

 

2019 is going to be an insane year.

Dark times. Sick times, indeed.

Yet people will just laugh and scoff at such an idea.

People do not have a clue what they are up against.

The world is always ending, shit is always on the verge of hitting the fan. There's little difference now than there has been before. Many cultures have suffered an apocalypse at their own hands over many millennia. It's the natural state of entropy.
Sure, we've done a fine job of speeding it up, but when you have a population growth that's far beyond control and completely unsustainable that's when the universe decides it needs to file bankruptcy and liquidate some assets. Just enjoy the ride. Is it really our job to try and do something about it so the volatility can be worse in the future?

We survived Y2K, the end of the Mayan Calendar, and the Rapture.

I'm pretty sure we've got 2019 under control.
