Intel Launches First IDM 2.0 Global Chip Fab Assault Breaking Ground On Two Arizona Plants | HotHardware Intel is basically a bank, that loans people their computers. Seriously, they could brick half the computers in the world with the push of a button, and destroy all the competition. The embargo with China upset the whole apple cart, and Intel was counting on the Chinese to make chips for them, and is even now using TSMC to make chips for them, but the lines have been drawn and they're investing billions and billions more again in building new fabs. The supply is outstriping the demand, and there's no way in hell they'd invest more in fabs if they could dominate the market some other way. The Pentagon has to deal with all these companies, Intel, Microsoft, AMD, Google, Amazon, etc. and somehow make sure they don't sell the nation down the river to the highest bidder, or kill each other too fast.
Intel's back doors. We worry about government spying. All the government would have to do is take over Intel, and our computers would be owned. There are some Arm based machines out there. One of the Surface machines is. Microsoft's Windows 11 is pushing for everybody to upgrade to hardware with more built in security features like secure boot and TPM 2, but it will be 5 years before Windows 10 is moth ball'd. That won't close Intel's back doors though.
Its not just Intel, its everyone. Sadly, all 12 billion transistors on a chip can be replaced with roughly 2,000, using any number of alternative technologies, but we're stuck with billions of parts that have to be designed in different countries and all crammed onto chips, with people correcting all the errors they can as they go along. The whole affair has to be radically streamlined, down to a few working parts, and the analog technology to make it possible is coming along nicely. The newest chip I know of, uses gallium arsenide sandwiched between two pieces of aluminum foil, could easily run a million times faster off static electricity. Taoists say, "Its the stupid shit that always gets you", and all these stupid silicon chips have to go. Perskevites could provide one of the better cheap alternatives.
Its just the economics. Upon my examining all the evidence, I discovered that the workaholic Japanese and white US and EU populations have been imploding faster than any other on the planet, since the invention of birth control. Three Stooges economics are killing the entire planet, and we need something a bit more sophisticated, which I'm working on.
Maybe the reason we don't reproduce much is that we've been damaged by all the sugar that we've been fed. Sugar: the other, other white meat.
