Intel slapped with class action lawsuit over foundry revenues — litigants allege securities fraud (msn.com)

The timing of this lawsuit is particularly noteworthy. Intel is infamous for their extra-legal ways, and has received at least 30 out of 70 billion dollars in federal funding to build new fabrication plants. Everyone said they would have trouble finding people to run them for them, especially in states like Arizona and Ohio and, sure enough, they had trouble. Then, Intel recently put the construction of two of its new fabs on hold.

In their case, Intel might as well be Ma Bell, owned by the Pentagon, but they're so enormous that they're actually as much a fucking bank as they are a semi-conductor manufacturer. Note, that both Intel and Nvidia are still counting on cheap Chinese chips for half their damn supercomputers. The fact that Intel is hedging on two of its new fabs is about as much of a sign as anyone will get, that the Chinese don't intend to invade Taiyuan anytime soon.

The money is doing all the driving, and even China must have recognized by now, that these corporations can adapt to whatever nonsense they put out. The Chinese government could not run a laundromat, and they're starting to figure out, war is not their strong point either, and they will have to settle for owning Russia's economy. Baby Steps.
