I'm glad you've come back and told us...I so hope that she'll come back also. Even tho' this is from an older (and jaded) viewpoint...overall, people are assholes and you're right. Would it have hurt those jackasses just to take the flier and say they'll keep an eye out? FGS! Hell, just take the flier and they could roll their eyes - (I think) that'd be better than telling you of the one thing nobody with an animal would want to think about. grrrr Also, it really is hopeful (again, jmo) that the cards say to expect a miracle. The cards don't lie.
Thanks, TAZER, and thank you, Lynn. I hope so. I asked if they could tell me anything about Neffi and I got a card indicating a cat and a card indicating a miracle. Also one involving Mother Nature, but not sure how that one factors in... I guess we'll just wait and see what happens, won't we?
i know it's a long shot but sometimes critters do amazing things ... like travel hundreds , even thousands of miles to get home. maybe MAYBE Neffie is on her way to your old home. do you have any friends or neighbors where you used to live you can call and ask them to keep a look out for her?
Let's hope she did not take that 500 mile trek. I hope she is circling the neighborhood and be home really soon. I know of a case where a cat somehow wondered into a neighbors garage. The neighbors then went on vacation and the cat was stuck in the garage. All turned out well. Come home Neffi!!!
That ^ occured to me also...even tho' she was, no doubt, somewhat traumatized by the move and kept in for a while...still, like dormouse said sometimes critters do amazing things.
no way :willy_nilly: Seriously, we've put posters on both ends of the road and walked 3 miles out and back calling her name and handing out fliers to the neighbors. Not much else we can do. I was under the impression that getting them fixed eliminated this urge, but I guess I could be wrong... Also, isn't it the wrong time of year? We had considered that she was shut in somewhere. It's one of the first things I thought of. Not much we can do except ask around to make sure people are keeping an eye out and listening for scratches and checking their sheds. And I moved from my parents' house, so if she did happen to decide to go on a 500 mile hike, and by some miracle actually made it, they would still be there and would surely let her in. They are bleeding hearts, and they loved loved loved Neffi (everyone loves Neffi- she's just that kind of kitty), so I have no doubt they would take her in again.
damn i keep checking hoping she's home too you're in my thoughts; good energy to you. Channel love to her, I know it sounds like some hippie mumbojumbo, but it will do you and her good, even if just for your heart. I reallllllly hope a miracle happens SOON and you are reunited
Thanks goodvibes. I wasn't being facetious, honest, lol. She was fixed at a little over a year old, but I have seen her behave... wantonly, let's say... since then, lol. Not nearly as violently as before she was fixed, tho. She used to be a little hobag. She had a litter of 6 kittens starting when she was only 6 months old. She was a crazy pregger kitty, too. Jumped into our pond and caught a fish as big as her head, ate the whole thing except the tail, then came in and ate two cans of food before she collapsed and fell asleep, lol. It was epic.
Still no sign. The watch continues... andallthatstocome, thanks, we have a have-a-heart trap. She did love catnip, and there doesn't seem to be any up here. Maybe she got to jonesin and needed a fix. I'd try anything at this point...
hello . here are answers to two questions as i spin the oracle wheel . is Neffie alive ? yes can she be found ? no to communicate with Neffie ? it is like to play with the flicker of a candle .
I don't know if I like the sound of that, but thanks all the same. My mom had a dream in the wee hours of the morning that she was holding her, and that she had come home, but that she was wet and covered with gravel. That doesn't sound very good to me, but she seemed to think it meant she was on her way home... I had a dream about her the morning before that she was trapped somewhere and dirty and dehydrated but we found her and I was holding her and was getting ready to call the vet to make sure she was okay... Another night, I dreamed she was looking in the window at us, but when we opened the door, it was Eric's cat instead. It hurts to wake up and not have her here, but the dreams give me hope somehow...
well, i haven't given up on Neffy. she could still be trying to make her way back to her original house. we lost our dog Freckles for 3 weeks. she showed up in an animal shelter 1/2 way between my parent's lake house in Conneticut and our regular house in NY.
Hmmm... Maybe a road trip to Mass and NH is in order? Or phone calls... Man that would be quite a trek, but as others have shown me, 500 miles is chump change next to the extreme distances some cats have gone. Thanks as always, guys.
