India's space agency has carried out the first in a series of tests flights ahead of its planned Gaganyaan mission to take astronauts into space in 2025. India completes crucial test in crewed space mission after delay
Chandrayaan-3 was the first spacecraft from earth to land near the lunar south pole, which is considered highly challenging due to its uneven terrain. There were no other spacecraft or rovers or lunar orbiters around or nearby to capture on camera this historic event. Hence a 3d animated video was used to depict the event based on navigational feedback from Chandrayaan-3. The Chandrayaan-2 lunar orbiter had taken photographs of the Vikram lander. The South Korean lunar orbiter Danuri had also captured images of Vikram lander, as did Nasa as well, which confirmed the landing. The crewed Gaganyaan spacecraft, if successful, can be easily captured in camera by the many Indian and international satellites in space or ground based telescopes, so there will be no need for a 3d animated video.
