I remember we had a code red lock down in highschool all because a kid said he wouldn't mind if the school blew up. good times, good times. A few weeks later...another kid lit the bathroom on fire from throwing a cigarette in the garbage...gotta love the highschool idiots!
it seems like someone doesnt care what they saw i mean the person who came up and stopped the fight and i wonder what this person saw i think what i am trying to say is that they should have cameras or cheaper whould have someone for everyplace around the school
I was going to say that sounds like good subterfuge for pulling off a bank heist. Then I remembered that was the plot for Die Hard With A Vengeance.
Why do schools attract such a collection of arseholes working in em? Apologies to any decent teachers here or elsewhere. Why dont u take him out for a treat , tell him how proud u are that he defended himself. And say you''ll sort it , that those tossers who claim to be teachers should know better. I'd probably be quite errmm * direct* against the teacher. Alternatively( maybe better) u MUST report them to the school authority , maybe the press , maybe find a no win no fee lawyer. Is there some sort of parents lobbying group? Say that he is being harrassed and denied his constitutional rights etc. And being forced into accepting violence against him. Why did it happen?Because the teachers would rather be yapping in the staff room than looking after little kids safety... Good luck PS I didnt like teachers either...
easy, most teachers end up teachers as failed out students of other majors so they accept transfering there credits to have some career instead of ending up janitors.
You pretty much said what I was thinking I don't like calling people losers , but adults who bully kids are the lowest of the low. These moronic places can be closer to Victorian England than they are to 2008. There's some terrific people who are teachers. But others...sometimes I think they yell at kids all day , then go home and jerk off over it... I mean what sort of person tells little kids to call em "Sir" or "Miss"? - as they try in England...
Tough situation! Do they have charter schools where you live? You don't necessarily have to homeschool to find a school that fits your ideas of what education and discipline should look like. Or at least in some areas. I know when I lived in Maryland, there were none that matched my ideas but here in North Carolina there are. If it were me and my daughter, I would sit around and come up with vengeful silly ways of getting back at whoever hurt her. That way she releases it in laughter and doesn't really have to do anything. Then again, i see the world in cartoons sometimes
Thanks everybody for the support! We did tell him that we were proud of him for standing up for himself, and that we were not going to give him any type of punishment for what happened because we knew he was only trying to defend himself. I like the making it into something a little more funny to help him deal with how he's feeling. It might help him not stess so much over the whole situation and future confrontation with this boy. I just felt so bad for him going off to school today, he hardly slept at all last night because he was so worried. I asked him if he was worried about the boy harassing him again and he said no not really, he was just worried about being in the office all day. I just hope that boy leaves him alone and doesn't say anything nasty to him tomorrow at recess if they go outside.
glad its over. Yeah btw, this totally beats my thread. And we never really have that problem, because suspensions arent given out lightly, and lil detentions arent worth the bother.
HCM , just one thought on treating it as a laugh , yeah that sounds ok BUT I think you dont wanna switch on a type of "rebel gene" type of thing. I used to keep a low profile in school , then the shit forced me to see red. So everything became a laugh , ie I was gonna be the most ultra rebellious of em all. Actually it became quite costly- they wouldnt really back me for the hardest colleges I wanted to go to.And it went on.. I really hated school( more so than what was normal)and I dont think that was good. Anyway , good luck
All he did was push the boy away from him? He didn't hit him in return? That's dumb that he got in trouble then! I can understand worries about guns but that's just ridiculous!
Ressotaspiksman, my son hates school too...I mean he goes without giving me hassle, just complains about it the entire time. Thankfully he has really good grades, but I know he has issues relating with some of the other boys at times. He's not very athletic. He was actually diagnosed with a motor skill delay early on in his education and I think it's impacted his self esteem when it comes to interacting with some of the more athletic boys. Which is actually how the confrontation started out...in gym class. I guess they were playing a game and this boy got in my son's face screaming at him, saying he was playing the game wrong and whatnot. My son said he wasn't, and the kid got irrate, decided to go after him at recess. I think a kid that gets that worked up over a silly sym class game has got some issues!
I asked him seveal times if he hit the boy, and he claims all he did was shove him off of him when he was on the ground. So yes, it seems a bit unfair to me. Stupid zero tolerance BS!
Well to me , that would add extra substance to your complaint. I dont follow the motor skill delay thing? Is it a treatable affliction? Or is it just like "bad coordination" that he'll grow out of? I'm wondering if sort of Chinese martial arts exercises might help it? Personally I'd want a pound of flesh from the school authority. But thats just my philosophy.
