In a week and a half

I'll be here for three weeks =D the cape verde islands(west of africa,east of brazil)with the best beaches ever.i'm visiting 3 islands i think or maybe just two of them(sao nicolau and sal)that's a total of 6 plane rides.i haven't been on a plane since 3rd grade mang.this shall be quite the trip.i'll come back wicky tan.ahaha.if im lucky i'll go hiking,learn how to surf,and maybe how to swim first

How do you not know how to swim.

In my county, the schools require that you do because there's so much water involved in peoples' lives. I end up on the water at some point, every other day or so.

 

-actually i think i told you i wasand you told me about how you learned about the islands in school or whatnot.if you guessed i woulda given ya a present.

Well... rip currents will still suck you out. That's why you learn to hop and such when you take swimming lessons when you're little.

You have to jump (if you can barely feel the bottom) and paddle horizontally to the rip current. You can see them and feel them in the water if you look hard enough. Looking for sudden depth and temperature changes from the upwellings of the coriolis effect, etc.

Undertow is such a bitch. Unless you're surfing and need to get out, but it's still, nevertheless... quite a bitch.

Wow, that's really cool. Must be nice to absorb some of the culture, and get in touch with your roots.

I've been meaning to get more in touch with my Irish roots. Closest I've come is getting drunk on St. Patricks day.

I'd tell you to send me some bananas, but I'd probably just get hassled by homeland security.

Swimming's easy, but you probably should pick it up before you go surfing.

thank you antoine.if i get a job by this summer i might be going on one of the two spring break trips.one is to paris and london and the other is to germany,switzerland, and austria

thanks spenceri haven't been there since i was like 4 or something
it's really hot and they have plants everywhere and i've been in touch with nature lately so this should be quite the experience.the mini bananas are really good and so is the food=Dmaybe i can pick up some cool shells and rocks...some of the islands have volcanosbut i won't be going to those.

beaches and mountains.two in one.that's all i need

 

you have to learn how to swim! it'd be kind of a drag, going there and not being able to swim..... promise me you'll learn

 

i know i know.i'll probably be spending alot of time at the beach anyway so i might as wellok chuck....i promise i will learn

i have no idea. i couldnt swim when i was younger, but then out of the blue one day when i was 15 i jumped into a pool and i could do it. 'twas unimaginably easy, seeing as how there were almost countless near-death almost-drownings when i was in elementary school....

i always wanted to swim but i just could never do it.
