What exactly have you studied for most of your adult life? People like me? That's a prejudice thing to say, Wizardofodd. You know nothing whatsoever about me, so the only "spouting of bullshit" is coming from you. Mind you, I'm not fighting or arguing with you (you are with me) but I do have to hand your words back to you. This post is pretty charged and loaded with negativity. I'm wondering why you're participating in this thread.
I absolutely don't have wicked, wicked hatred against them. I know quite a few people who do good things in the name of religion or God and I respect them for that. Does it have to be in the name of religion? Absolutely not, but somehow it works for them and they need to have such a thing in their life. To me, it's silly that you need religion, but whatever works for them is fine.
I am just curious about why who has utter hatred for god and religion came from. Ihave seen no evidence of that anywhere here.
If you are pro-hatred, pro-fighting .. then want call it something other than what it is .. go right ahead but I'll just block you both. Ignore. I'm tired of society's nastiness. My question to atheists still stands, almost as if it were a basis and guideline for rational thought.
To answer your question.....god talk is every where every day, so everyone has a right totalk about it...believing in religion or not...what Ruby Said....Are you trying to repress people?
I never said I was pro-hatred or pro-fighting. I have NEVER said I hate "god" or religion. I just simply don't believe in it. You ask a question and want answers from people who think differently than you do but it doesn't matter how we answer. You basically tell us our answers aren't good enough. I think I answered kindly plenty of times here without disrespecting anybody or their beliefs. It's only when antagonized that I get annoyed. Go ahead and block me if you want but I really don't feel like I've done anything wrong except having my own beliefs that are different than yours. Don't ask a question then get pissed off when you get an answer that isn't what you want to hear.
There is no reason for an atheist to have any real feeling with this at all. As long as no one is forcing them to say it they shouldn't feel some type a way with someone else says it. Do what u want people just don't hurt others and it's all good.
Yes, Important Questions for atheists, as follows (to repeat what has already been stated) The first part, like I *already stated* is a question I've been wanting to ask for a while now. So I asked it. The second question turned into some people's opportunity for an open invitation to argue or fight. Going to be another thread people want to descend upon and rip to shreds? Have at it. My question is crystal clear and made known.
And if you notice no one is really discussing God, or that he does or does not exist but they are answering Your question,,, Your title drawing those who are not religious, was your call, you asked for this discussion, but claim we waste our time discussing God,,, bets are if no one at all had replied to your thread you would have taken offense to that. Best leave it alone now before it gets you angry because there are not many backing your question, ya know why? Because you called a gun fight and brought a butter knife. This is dull and getting no one anywhere, asked and answered,,, all done.
I feel like you keep asking the question but your question has been answered over and over again. You just don't like the answer so you keep asking hoping you'll hear something you want to hear. It's not going to happen. We won't see the world through your eyes. I do have very specific views on religion that could discount any logic you might think you have but I haven't shared any of those here. It wouldn't matter if I did because nothing that I would say about it would change your mind...as it shouldn't. I respect that you have a right to believe what you want to believe. Clearly you don't respect the fact that others may not think the say way as you so when we state we think differently you threaten to block us. I've never said anything to disrespect you or your religion. I've never tried to argue or fight with you. I've simply stated my opinions. You say I'm not the kind of atheist you were targeting with this question but you can't pick and choose which ones answer your questions. I'm choosing to be respectful towards you even though I have a million things running through my head to discredit organized religion. I don't get into those discussions because it's pointless. Which I guess answers your question yet again. I don't talk about it unless provoked.
I agree with do not hurt anyone, but I think people are entitled to whatever feelings they have about anything.....
It wouldn't bother me if nobody replied. Again: If I was a true non-believer and if I was firmly decided that God is a non-reality, I wouldn't waste my resources (time, attention, energy.. ). This is the point of the thread and has been stated repeatedly, in a multitude of ways. It isn't my fault if people *choose* to turn it into something other than what it is.
Ok then, you made your point, my point is non religious people rarely bring it up but when asked will offer their views... So are both sides happy now?
And I'm sure I've stated it at least twice before, I'm talking about very specific atheists .. the ones who ABUNDANTLY participate in discussions about God and religions. I'm not talking about people like Ruby and I made that distinction from the beginning. Tired of having to say something over and over again because people don't read or don't understand.
I think you typed the first post with a big grin on your face, and looked around your church..I mean home, and thought: God is everywhere. He is real. Look, even people who don't believe are talking about God *chuckle* If you are only talking about certain atheists who go out of their way to talk about God (even though you imply it's pretty much every atheist you meet) then I think it was said: because they can. It's not your energy they are wasting is it? Why they do it is not one answer, imho. There is a varied spectrum. You have to accept that some do and some don't...it's as simple as that. Next time you talk to an atheist who is talking about God ask them why...then try that with ten others. You will probably get six different answers. ^ not rocket science
Yes, which is why I am reading this thread! I think Ginalee, you are stereotyping atheists. I am an atheist, I have friends who are muslim, christian and catholic, we don't force anything on each other. Only my friend who is muslim I talk about religion with, only because she likes to talk about it as she studied religion and its history. Like Oden said, I like to chat! I don't particularly like the way Christianity is taught in school as fact, but am not arguing about it.
