This one Janus protein is a huge leap forward for immunotherapy for cancer, which has proven to sometimes even be effective in late stage cancers that have matasticized. Its obviously one of the main targets they need to prime the immune system for and, for all I know, we could soon be getting vaccines for cancer, that don't necessarily prevent cancer, but prevent it from spreading before the doctors can treat it. Cancer covers a wide variety of things and is not just one disease, and understanding its impact on the immune system is crucial to making real progress that doesn't involve bombarding people with radiation and chemicals, like some sort of lab experiment to see what they can tolerate.

T-cells are created in the spleen, on top of your stomach, and are central to our immune systems. Some might remember the movie "Awakenings" where Robbin Williams plays a doctor who administers L-Dopa to comatose patients, who all mysteriously awoke, only to fall back to into a coma again. They were targeting the T-cells and the more they learn about our immune system, the more they comprehend how our bodies work in general, with sleep being central to the immune system functioning properly.
