Glad you like it VG! Another thing that strikes me is the way the moonlight and the light from the fire contrast. Fire too is a difficult thing to paint. Probably, it's Vernet's best work. Here's another picture 'Moonlight' by John Atkinson Grimshaw. He get's it quite well IMO, but not as well as Vernet. As a print, this looks a little darker than on screen. ]
