Nesta, I think a lot of people are against starbucks because of the corporate giant aspects. I really dont know how the coffee compares though, I go to some local shops sometimes with friends but it all kind of tastes the same to me. I just went to starbucks tonight bc they have a drive through, and I was too stoned and lazy to go inside haha..

 

I don't suppose you take your men (or boys) like you take your coffee

yeah, i know, but corporations aren't inherently evil. starbucks practices aren't nearly so bad as people assume just because they are growing like crazy and have been for a decade or so. they do a LOT of good things, though, much of which go unpublicized. for instance, they have a program called black apron exclusives, where they offer premium limited offering coffees....usually damn expensive....but i heard the farmers that they choose to provide them with the beans are awarded with a bonus LARGE sum of money on the condition that its reinvested in their communities, to promote ecologically sound farming practices, dig wells, build schools, the likes.

i dunno. i've done a couple projects on them for school and learned a lot about them, and come to find i think they really are a good company overall, even if they're really really big and getting close to being a "monopolistic" company. there are plenty of choices available, but just because a place is local doesnt make it good. i go to coffee shops i think are good, and starbucks (i think) has some good stuff. so whatever. it just irks me that so many snobby people turn up their noses at it....so many "hippies" and other subculture folks are so anti-starbucks, even a lot of mainstream people hate them. for no real good reason.

Whenever I'm visiting my younger brother (he's 16) and he has all his friends over-I'll step into his room and just get this overbearing waft of feet and onion. Damn teenagers and their damn odors.

my little brother is repulsively stinky. my older brothers were, too. they're just notoriously awful. i don't know what the fuck happens to them, but teenaged boys are RIPE.

 

Maybe its something they eat? I dont have that prob thank god. I can definitely sweat a lot and smell sweaty, but its not that nasty onion bo smell

 

it's hard to explain, just that you can always tell when a teenaged boy has been around. either from the natural rankness, or from the appalling amount of cologne they marinate in to cover the scent and *snicker* attact girls.

 

i've gotten stoned plenty of times...i just don't think its for me anymore - atleast right now

 

I've never been smelly.

I have also decided that I cannot stand bongs.

Bongs are a ridiculous way of smoking, huge, nasty hits, and just no fun.

 

if you smoked a lot and engaged in a lotta outdoors activities as a teen, then yes, you were smelly.
