As someone who grew up in Apartheid South Africa I have seen hate at it's worst. But I'll tell you. If you walk into a township (as a white person) Blacks will treat you with respect with hope you will show the same there is very little resentment just people trying to survive. Yes their is crime but where isn't there any crime. During Apartheid Black were not allowed to ever walk into certain areas if they did you need a pass to go. This was their country!!!!! I think if people just quit looking back maybe we can move forward.

The fact that a majority of black people are poor is a result of centuries of oppresion and segregation, I mean if you were put on an island with nothing what would you make of it?

It has nothing to do with rich poor greenyellow purple blue or whatever. It has to do with the economy and the justice system. I think if you or I if we were faced in a court room and were asked "so how much do you make" and we told the judge oh around 8.50 an hr that would change the whole story. Unlike if you were a rich/famous.
