This must be a board I used to frequent. I found myself nostalgic for old school forums/message boards because current social media just does not provide the same kind of meaningful connection in my humble opinion and when I ran across hip forums here and wanted to create an account and typed in my email it said it was already in use!

Considering I've had that email for a good couple of decades I just hit the reset password button.

I am making an introduction anyways because I have obviously not been around for quite some time and do not really remember posting here!

I'm Sarah. I'm in my mid thirties and have an awesome little family. I live in the middle of nowhere in the midwest. I love My Little Pony and other 80's toys/cartoons. I enjoy classic rock music. I have strong feelings about taking care of the planet and environment. I have interest in healthy food. I enjoy yoga. Coffee is awesome. Cats are pretty awesome also. I like being an adult much better than being a teenager. My favorite color is purple. I try to see the positive side of things. I love to read.

That was random as hell but intros always come off awkward as all get out. If you remember me that is awesome please say so. If not, I'm certainly not offended since I didn't even remember frequenting this board. I hope it's active here, so many boards are sad and defunct and it's just depressing.

If there's enough activity I'm real good at jumping in and keeping up on all that.

Thanks for reading all this nonsense. Have a good night. :)

LOL @ Glen. Nice try....Thanks for the welcome.

Will, I have some toys from when I was a kid also! Some of my favorite 80's cartoons were Care Bears, My Little Pony, David the Gnome, Jem, She-Ra, Gummi Bears, Muppet Babies, The Little Bits....I could probably think of more if I rack my brain. I also liked stuff like Fraggle Rock an awful lot. Nickelodeon in the early years was pretty awesome.

Oh man, I'm not sure I could pick just one favorite book. I've read the book Sphere a few different times and I also loved What Dreams May Come. I love almost anything by Lisa Gardner. I am a big fan of the Mortal Instruments series and really any series by Cassandra Clare. I also really loved the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman, those were pretty amazing. I loved the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris as well. Oh man, I could keep going but I would probably never stop lol. I love suspense/mystery books and also a good fantasy book. I am also a big fan of young adult stuff.

Nice, I've read the first book in the His Dark Materials series and really liked it. I need to finish the series. I read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books too after True Blood ended. Those are fun books

Thanks for the answer! I can talk about books all day haha

SWEET! Grateful to find another book nerd! I'm currently about to finish a book called "A Mango shaped space" it is really good so far. I highly recommend trying to finish the Dark Materials series because it is super awesome. I read the books before they made True Blood but I remember how stoked I was when I found out they were making a series. I think they did a pretty great job on it actually.

Have you read Coraline? I read that before the movie and really loved it also. They did a good job on that movie too. I love Neil Gaiman. I'm super stoked because I read the other day that they are finally going to make a tv series based on his Sandman comic books which are epic. My mother has that entire comic series and I've read them and I absolutely love them. I cannot WAIT to see what they do with the TV series.

I haven't read Coraline. I've only read one Gaiman book but I really liked it - The Ocean at the End of the Lane. So dark and creepy and simply and beautifully told. I've been meaning to read more Gaiman, maybe I should try Coraline next since it's along the same lines. And I started Neverwhere a long time ago but never finished it, I need to get back to that one too

I've been meaning to check out the American Gods TV series but I think maybe I should read the book first

I have to admit I oughta read more of Gaimans stuff than I have. Funny enough, Ocean at the end of the Lane was the other one I read and I like it best of all! Maybe even better or as much as Sandman comics. I got about halfway through American Gods and never finished it. It was good but I was going to college at the time and had too much going on. I've never watched the show but thought about it, and thought about trying to finish the book. Coraline was written with a younger audience in mind and is very good, a bit different than Ocean but more similar than some of his deeper and more involved stuff. I'd definitely recommend it, it's a pretty short/fast read like Ocean was also. I also got into Neil Gaiman from wayyy back in childhood I was into The Maxx. A comic book series done by Sam Keith and Neil Gaiman was involved as well. It ended up being an animated series on MTV for awhile which was how I got into it and I love love love that forever. They also collaborated on a movie that was produced by Jim Henson company called Mirrormask which was equally wonderfully weird and awesome and I would recommend that also.
