I'd read it but I certainly don't expect it, nor do I want to see him take that route.

I'd rather he eventually find something that makes him happy while living in the comfort and safety of his own home until he feels that it's time to pursue whatever he wants in life at an age that will be much more conducive to his emotional and physical well being as well as his happiness.

I doubt many 15 year old transients are very happy.

personally i'd like to see a "i'm going back to school and learning to appreciate my parents as human beings" thread started by dazed ... but that is obviously not the route he is taking, if the abuse hurled at me for repeating what he already said is any gauge.. it's not likely to be any time soon either

at least this way he can turn your doubt into a definite as to wether one 15 year old transient is very happy or not

course he could just be a kid making a dramatic but fruitless thread as a way of coping with the fact that he is struggling to cope with life, rendering this thread useless spam ... but as others have said, that's normal :mickey:

It could be worse. He could be trying to cope with life by developing a fruitless addiction.

He's 15 years old. I haven't read anything that is really any different than the way a lot of 15 year olds feel. Especially regarding their parents, school, ennui, etc.

Eh, but nobody learns to appreciate their parents until they move out. Maybe a stint out in the streets might do him some good. I don't encourage it, of course not, but I know I was pretty disrespectful and unappreciative of my parents until I moved out and realized just how hard life really is. And even through all the abuse I flung their way, my dad still will toss $20 my way if money is tight and I'm running low on groceries. I was angsty, I treated my parents like shit, and I was likely a nightmare to be around my entire adolescence, but my dad still will shell out the last bill in his wallet so that I have food. Thank god for parents.

I loved life when i was 15! infact i always have and i've been bored of TV and got majorly nagged by my parents in the past. You want experiences and to see places get off the computer and do it.

Me thinks dazed was making an announcement and not asking a question, which may be why he isn't answering many questions.

Although the in a year ting isn't very convincing.

Who knows? Maybe he'll do it.

    Best of luck, dazed.

Expecting a 15 year old to view their parents in the way they should be seen (given that they're decent people) is relatively pointless.

At that age any problem, no matter how big, seems like it is the be all and the end all. A wider scope comes with age.

Dazed may just not know that this will pass, as most teenagers don't. Expecting him to see the world through the eyes of someone 10+ years older is just plain silly.

Him voicing his feelings is healthy and he should know that he is able to do it at a place like hip forums where he won't necessarily be judged harshly.

The abuse that Dazed hurled at you is well deserved.

You've been an ass in this thread (I see that you are english so let me explain-being an ass is not good). Your attitude is a holier-than-thou "adult" looking down on someone who is younger than you (again not good).

You have not really added anything to this thread except acidic comments (again not good). Whether they are right or wrong-the way in which you commented would lead anyone to argue with you.

If you comment here to help-you did not help. Maybe you were trying to be funny? It really wasn't funny.

Someone came here looking for help and you did what?

Maybe it's an English thing that I don't get-like Benny Hill.

...if you have dropped out of school to sit around and watch TV and complain about the parents that love you and support your lazy ass then you've already failed at "middle class suburban teenager", possibly the easiest life since the beginning of civilization.

Being homeless is going to be a hell of a lot harder, and the consequences of failing a lot higher. What exactly makes you think you are going to do better at this?

Honestly, if I was your father I would have kicked you out long ago and not let you back in until you decided to go back to school. I'd let hunger, wet, and cold do the convincing.
