it seems to me that while you may have experienced some people who weren't open to meeting you, but it seems you've been doing the same to others. so what you have something wrong with you? show everyone else it doesn't matter, because it doesn't. its only something you've overcome, learned to deal with.
perservere. don't give up. you're not an 'alien' by any means. you're just like the rest of us- lost, confused, friendly, interested in what you're interested in, whatever. just, be you. if someone doesn't like you, thats their problem.

 

your taste in music is pretty common. I don't know where in NY you live but if you've went through your whole life without meeting a single person that has anything in common with you, its time to move.

and honestly, I think it just sounds like you're not giving people a chance. I've connected with some unlikely people throughout my life. Just because someone doesn't give the outwardly appearance of being anything like you doesn't mean you won't find commonalities if you take the time to dig deep enough.

 

I live in Sullivan County right near Bethel. It's not that I don't give people a chance they don't give me a chance. I don't expect anyone to understand it from my point of view. Like I don't know, I must give off an aura or something. But everyone I've ever met has ended up double crossing me, stealing from me, etc. I've had friends that have nothing in common with me but still who doesn't like a likeminded friend? Hell I'll take a friend even if they just use me to rant and whine to me.

 

i really think you should quit isolating yourself, go meet new people. go new places. there are awesome people everywhere. this is ridiculous though, maybe you should look for different qualities in people if they've all ended up fucking you over.

Hard to socialize and give others a chance when you're convinced they don't like you and they're waiting to push you away at any moment. Also, why do they HAVE to have the same interests as you? Maybe you should try being more accepting of others, despite having different interests, and they'll be accepting of you.

@ the same time, I think you very much enjoy your isolation. It's the poem to your struggles... so far. I DO believe you've been double-crossed, but perhaps you're being too trusting/nice/friendly in favor of winning friendship, and befriending the wrong assholes.

Stand up for yourself but be open should you meet a nice individual. That's all one needs in common to start a friendship, imo.

If you decide to get out of your funk, get positive and go to some concert and meet new folk. It takes a good dose of positivity and confidence from yourself, but it is not impossible. No one really outright hates someone for no reason.

You've gotta be willing to meet others without said baggage. I truly believe 99% of it is all in your head.

I don't understand why you have to have friends that are exactly like you. I've had friends that were so different from me, that we clicked really well! I just don't think you're trying hard enough. It seems like maybe you want
to be so different from people so you don't have to connect with them.

And I do understand what you're going through. I pretty much lost contact with all my friends I've had. When I'm not at my boyfriends, I sit at my parents house not doing a damn thing because I don't have any friends here anymore.

 

Well, i understand your point, but a bit diferently, i know i´m a human being, i can´t deny it. But some times i would like to be an alien, or just another thing, maybe a Bonobo (they have no stress or violence, they fix problems with free love or sex, they live happyer and theyr society is a matriarchy) that´s the misanthrope of me.

I call it synchronicity or desynchronicity in my case.

Synchronicity, appart from a great álbum, hapens to those socializing, they get synchronized some times the turn to be sheeps, they have more fun, they pass by, so they just don´t care or have time to pay atention to those starving in Africa, to those political corrupted, they are in, know the trending toppics, care for themselves and basically that´s what matters to them.
From the point of view of someone like me, there´s too much people who is happy just LOLing troling bullying, and liveing in pure assholism

desynchronized people, have more free time (maybe too much, and maybe that makes us sick) then get the negative point of view, all the sh.. scam, corruption, murder, we don´t care of the latest dress of Lady Gaga, or the last joke about Charlie Sheen jr. or we find out late, or we just don´t give a s..

Pretty much like that. I live in upstate NY and there really isn't anyone around here. My town has at most 350 people mostly elderly, middle aged. Really, I could prove it to anyone who asks since no one seems to believe me. I'm unable to travel 100 miles to find any hint of life due to various reasons. Trust me, this area I live in is economically depressed and the few people who are my age are typical youngish people speeding around doing coke and stealing from people (Again I can prove this all to any disbelievers) But likeminded people would be nice due to my whole life being spent around people with "popular" viewpoints cramming their interests down my throat and always shunning me when I talk about what I'm into.

The other thing is the majority of people out there have been able to share their interests and what they're into. It's because all I see in life are people who hang with eachother and are good friends and everything and they get along with all their friends mostly based on what they like. It sucks because I've been trapped for years with no one to talk to or anything. But I guess Aspergers puts a lot into the mix.

I´ve loosed lots of friends, the sooner i had my own car i get free, i ended drinking as if it where the last day in my life, sometimes we just change out minds, some get married, some went out. Sometimes i miss my friends, sometimes i envy them for haveing a family and busy lives. I have being alone too much, maybe i´m becoming kind of a tyrant cos i do what i like when i like, maybe is too late to share my life, to accept some one elses will. If i had to describe my way of liveing i would say i´m a monk

Sadly some people look for friends only to laugh togheter on others, or just to be part of something, to stay and be "in", so they´re not out.
