i feel the exact same way. unity. some form of truth. i am also drawn to buddhism. but indegenous paganism of many regional areas/animism, quite a few aspects of hinduism, and espcially principals of Taoism. but all religions im intrigued by, each one having something to offer.

great question....and sreat answer, by the way...thats what I wouldv'e picked..

my favorite era....baroque, by far. I played cello for six years, and baroque always gave us rhythm people something fun to do....I HATE Pacabel's Canon in D only because we held whole notes for 10 minutes and my arm always went numb.

as for composer, I always listened to Vivaldi and Bach...I love Bachs cello concerto in 6 movements. I have a passion for Beethoven and Rachmaninoff as well.

I like this question....Ill pass it on to the next.

Can't choose a favourite composer I'm afraid. I like Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and so on, but it all depends on my mood.
Of those three I think I go with Romantic. I love the drama and symphonies in that style, I also like the dramatic scenes in Romantic paintings very much.

What is your favourite lyrical theme in music? And what is your favourite song where it is expressed, or one of your fav's?

ah! me too. baroque no question. i must say that i am not fond of the classical and romantic era, and i feel so "ignorant" saying it. i love the intensity and complexity of baroque, and for some reason the keys and tempos the composers choose always resonate on deep levels for me. played classical violin for 11 years "officially" but still pick it up. vivaldi and bach are my favorite composers hands down. beethoven telemann and hanel as well.

the cello is such a beautiful insturment. when did you start? i write and compose music (not classical lol) and do not consider a song complete without cellos

i have 4 cats :D id have more if i could. i spend more time observing them then attending to lecture notes and papers.

every one seems to shout mozart from the roof tops, and while i really appreciate his musical genius, alot of his compositions are to light and playful, and most of the time, it almost treads on my nerves. :( sorry guys. i feel guilty even feeling that way, lol.

man... i dont really have a particular theme in preferance... although my favorite lyricist is Serge Fiori (Quebecer band Harmonium)... not only are his topics amazing (simply feelings in life, and somewhat a bit of spiritual awekening) but he has fuckin great writing skills...
and the best song for Fiori's crazy skills: Chanson Noire :)

    same question...
(oh and to person above. i think it means, what do you like songs to be written about? and in which song does it show most?)

Yeah, that's what I ment indeed [IMG] I don't have an absolute fav theme neither actually hehe, but there are some themes that are done so well in a few songs or sometimes in a genre, it's like they speak to me more than other subjects. I bet Chanson Noire is in French? Damn, I don't master that language completely..

I don't have a favourite beer. There's quite a few good dutch lagers and I don't have an absolute favourite between it. Some of the beers I appreciate most are Heineken, Grolsch and Hertog Jan. I'm not too choosy, although I do have some least favourites...

    Same question?
