I drove 480 miles yesterday and another 880 miles today with no help. Fuck that drive! My ass hurts. The important part is we made it home from Florida safely! Bad part is, I got home and all I want to do is take a shower but a water main broke down the street and we have no water
Hello, great to have you back. And be positive, better the water pipe broke down the street than in you basement . Regards Gyro
I'd love to do that. But only on a motorcycle or in a VW van. Road trips in any other vehicle = shitty time for the driver. Did you at least have audiobooks?
Thank you everyone. That is actually the truth, haha. I was going through withdrawal. Ok, I wasn't. One of the first things I did when I got home was come here too see what I had missed though. Soooo true. The water came back in shortly after I got home so I was able to shower. We were in a Toyota Venza. The temperate stayed below 20 for the last 15 hours of the drive. A motorcycle would have sucked. I didn't have audiotapes. There were 4 of us in the car so there was conversion. I was the only one that drove though. My friend actually broke down and cried all the way through St Louis. I think she was over stressed from the crazy week and her husband almost dying. It was all finally hitting her then we got to STL at rush hour and the roads weren't great because of snow. She lost her shit a little bit for a while. Her husband said to me "thank you for coming and saving us. She would have driven us off a bridge" haha
I waved at you on my way through KY. Did you see me? haha. I think we took I-24 all the way through. We were on so many different interstates I think that's the one we were on in KY. We never did see a "Welcome to Kentucky" sign so we just had to assume we were in the state. Thank you! It's good to be home. I'm having a lazy day today. I'm still in my pajamas and its going on 2 pm.
I was thinking of this, too. Usually it is a bigger risk for women over 35, obese people, smokers, pregnant women or those on hormonal birth control. Make sure to flex those leg muscles! Up to 2 weeks after the trip.
exactly...I had a friend who drove cross country non stop and got a DVT that he has had for 20 years...some blood clots dont ever go away and cause permanent vein damage.. But good on you Ruby, I am sure you took the necessary breaks.. these days on long drives, I download about 100 geocaches into my GPSr and usually stop every 20-50 miles to hop out and find the cache..makes the drive go fast and helps eliminate the chance of clots..
