im a vegetarian, i dont get the nutrients i need though. like i have really low iron and stuff. but whatever, just make sure you eat. dont be one of those vegetarians that only eat like salad and potatoes cause they dont know how to make anything else. i hate hate hate it when people are like "oh youre a vegetarian, so you eat like salad?" and im like "no you fucktard, i eat probably more of a variety of food than you do"
haha i drank that this morning. we usually buy coffee from our local co-op though, its mad expensive and we go through a whole pound a week.
Erm, who goes to a butcher for meat nowadays? Even if I went to the abattoir outside of town, I could trace back to the exact cow, but it would be a grain fed cow, not a grazing raised cow. And it would be stuffed full of antibiotics. Just how the system is, sadly.
Why not go to a local butcher? Usually they have extensive details of where they get their meat and it's probably better for your piece of mind to see your meat get cut in front of you. Also non organically grown fruits and vegetables sold in most super markets have shit loads of chemicals in them as well.
What sort of question is that!? Thats like saying who goes to an off license for drink Anyone who enjoys quality meat goes to a butcher. No wonder your a satani...vegetarian now
I can't say that I know many people who buy 100% of their meat at a butcher. I don't know a single butcher in this city - and I've lived here for 18 years. Aside from local markets, there isn't any abattoirs in this city.
This might help you with a little bit of replacement stuff: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1618070/cooking_with_boca_burger.html
Im veg and think its the way to go if you r doing it for heath, ethical or religious reasons. But if you like meat, and really want to eat good quality additive free meat you can order from a few places online...but if your poor then veg is the way to go to be hormone free.
A lot of the local grocery butchers around me carry and cut organic beef...at least they say it's organic. we all die someday...i'd enjoy death by pork
I say start slowly... That what I did. That way it won't be a shock to your habits. First, I stopped red meat, then chicken, then fish... all over the course of a few months. Also, be sure to replace everything you cut out with a healthy substitute... Organic is the way I swing personally... Organic soy milk is excellent for you, and tasty. Be sure to eats lots of greens, lots of beans and tofu. There are so many soy products on the market today, and many are organic as well. Good luck!
This is the view that I share with you. Thanks so much for the references to the Boca Burgers. They look delicious, and I only hope that I can find them here in Canada.
This is a great suggestion! My sister stopped eating red meat, and gradually she stopped eating pork. She still eats chicken and fish right now, but she's working on decreasing. I haven't eaten any meat in a week and I feel okay. I take vitamins and eat a variety of foods anyway, so hopefully I can continue to just eat this way or at least eat minimal meat. Thanks, I love the Silk brand of organic soy products.
