yeah, i used to love pier one. before they became the place where image conscious faux enlighteneds would go for their monthly room change.
i used to buy these hand carved wooden grill panels to make lamps out of there. yah, i don't know about monthly room chainges, but the last time i was there, i don't know if the one i went to last is even where it was when i did anymore, they had all kinds of neet stuff from all over the world that would inspire me to either make something out of it or to try my hand at making things slightly similar. i mean a lot of it wasn't like super highest quality or anything, but it was all made out of really totaly real materials, like wood and stone and so on. they had a lot of wicker furnature and stuff like that in there even then, but it was all like very reasonably not expensive at all. the only thing that bothered me about it was the thought that the artisans who actualy made the stuff might have, probably did, get maybe pennies on the dollar for their work. or worked in conditions of defacto slavery or whatever. probably still do too, i would guess. though i don't actualy know that for certain or anything. =^^= .../\...
