seriously? huge festival in the black rock desert, just north of reno (8ish hour drive from bakersfield) the way I've had it described to me by many many devout burners is "if you go there looking for it, you will find it" if you go looking for a weeklong drug fueled orgy, that's what you will find, if you go looking to find art, that is what you will find, if you go looking to see weird naked people doing weird things, that is what you will find.

reno also has some of the worlds best trout fisheries. we've got a cabela's, and will have a scheels later this year. we're apparently becoming a sportsmanship capitol of some sort... and I sound like an RSCVA (reno sparks convention and visitor's authority) ad....

it's better if you know reno cops are total assholes (I know everyone says their cops are total assholes, but I've been pulled over by chps, talked to shasta county sherriff's and redding police, sac police, goldfield police <tiny fucking town in the middle of nowere> and all of them seem like better guys than the RPD, sparks PD, washoe county sherriff, and NHP)

I've read through some of this thread (it's pretty long and I found myself reading a lot of random comments), so I'm just going to respond to this post...feel free to fill me in on anything I've "missed". Do you see this all being for the better, worse, neither? I don't know your life situation, other than what is being said right here , so I can't really say much. Friends do come and go, but it's very nice to have friends that you remain friends with (hopefully for all life). Was this friend one of those types, or so you thought("best friend")? It's crazy how those who you are closest to can hurt you the most, and mending those pains in order to achieve friendship again is one of the hardest things in life....but is there any way you could remain friends with this person? Forgive, don't forget I suppose.
I think this is a really good thing if I go about it correctly. I want to end up somewhere different. Like the ocean on the west side.
I would recommend Colorado myself. Of course everybody would question my motives for that recomendation. hehe. I recommend Colorado to everybody I like.
The BC area is pretty chill, if you want to stay in Canada. (everything from Vancouver to the smaller cities), but if you're planning on moving to the States check out Oregon (west of the cascades preferably), it's really a beautiful place (it's got everything in terms of terrain.) The coast is usually not to warm, but we still swim in it when it's like 60 degrees and windy out....that's just the people I hang out with I suppose though, it's definetely different than anywhere on the Cal. coastline.
