Charles Manson sucks ass. I don't know why bands refer to him when there's many more far superior villains that actually murdered people. It's like Dahmer is lost in time.

but the dude was referenced in a one line joke/lyric just to give a reference to what crazy is and how you (the listener) wouldn't recognize it. He was referenced because of the recognizability of his name, i'm sure of it.
also, the dude is really fucking crazy, even if there is one or two out there crazier
