I've been tested and am borderline retarded with an IQ of around 80. Doctors are uncertain how I've managed to attain such a high level of verbal fluency despite my profound intellectual impairment. I'm incapable of independent living and wore a diaper until I was 8 years old (I still wet the bed quite frequently). I decided to take an online IQ test to confirm what I've long known, and as expected, I qualify as intellectually disabled. Here is the score report: http://i.imgur.com/2pafcRB.png I took the test here: http://www.free-iqtest.net/
85 to 115 - Two thirds of us have an IQ in this range: the ’average’ IQ is 100. http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/iq_norms.shtml How were you with No.S?
This what it gave me. Not enough questions and not varied enough. The highest I ever managed on one of these online tests was 147, (was "in the zone" or something )my actual official Stanford-Binet IQ score is 132.
I have twice. First time at about twelve, scored 128. Second time in college at age 20, scored 132. Both were the Stanford-Binet test which was the standard for many years and at that time. Other ones I have messed with online have ranged from 116 (above) up to 147, but usually are around 125-135 and often that is dependent on the test itself. But it is only a measurement of potential and problem solving ability if the test is constructed properly. Ones that rely too heavily on education or cultural relevance are not very reliable in ascertaining a person's raw IQ. One reason I mentioned the test my "official" IQ is based on.
I've done three tests over the years. 136, 117 and 115. I assume the 136 was a fluke. Either that or I just got dumber as I got older. Possibly, I was just trying harder years ago too.
Does anyone in the USA remember being given the ASVAB test in high school? I had one in about 1977. Army Service Vocational And Battery Test. I scored well enough on that one that the Army kept sending me letters trying to get me to join.
I took it when I enlisted in the USMC. I don't remember how I did though. I do remember that they wanted me to take a job as a news anchor on the whatever network they ran. Armed Forces Network? Whatever it was, I turned them down. I would have had to bump my ship date by over two months which wasn't something I wanted to do.
I didn't get one of the word ones (maybe it was a state or a city that I don't know, or maybe it was just too hard for me) and I guessed on a couple number pattern ones.
