I'm back

hey all. I've been gone for some time because I've been on a spiritual journey. It all started with demons that were in our house that led me to realize the existence of a god, which drew me out of atheism. Then through a long process that started back in my childhood church, the Roman Catholic Church, I was led to the God of the bible. Then, I found out how heretical Catholicism is, and only after leaving the Catholic Church did I fully come to know who God is through his Word (the bible). I still go barefoot as long as I don't let it turn into fetishizing or lust. Which has required a lot of the guidance of the Holy Spirit to overcome and just let going barefoot be something I do for God's glory.

So that's why I've been gone. I've been walking with the Lord (barefoot), and it's been the best thing that ever happened. Never more living in my sin, but dead to it and its curse. My sin nature is being put to death each day, and I'm being renewed in Christ. By grace I am saved through faith, not of myself lest I should boast.

Not to worry, as I said, I stil love going barefoot

I look down to check out the feet of every woman who goes by and I don't think I am a sinner. Feet are one of Gods marvelous creations, if you like them you like them I wouldn't battle it unless you really feel your over doing it.

I should read the bible again. Been a very long time. A lot of wisdom in that book.

 

Start in the gospel of John. It includes information on salvation.

 

Hi, to assume that you really believe: you should be sure that God loves you as you are with all your attitudes, preferences etc. "How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well." (ps 139,14)

I think there are no devils who drive people to do bad things, and I think the things you talked about (e.g. going barefoot by "lust") is nothing that counts as a "bad thing" in the eyes of God. People who are really doing bad things (for example let drown refugees in the Mediterranean Sea) just don’t consider the teachings of Jesus. Not a devil guides them, but maybe a stone heart or blindness, or wrong advisors. Sensuality and sexuality are integral parts of every human being, and part of the way god shaped you.

Well, Jesus did say, "you have heard it said of old, thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say to you whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."

As well Jesus made it pretty clear that satan can influence our actions. Peter was telling Jesus he didn't want Him to hav to go to the cross. Then Jesus said to him: get thee behind me satan.

 

There are many paths, but only one mountain, our feet shape the path as the way shapes our feet, and all ascend the stairway to heaven, for all are born to fall on their butts! But, up,up,up is the only way to go in this sad clown town! All the world's a Vaudeville stage so, break a leg, pay it forward, and learn how to laugh if it kills you!

Of course you can find almost any restriction and statement in the bible of you read it word-by-word. Remember, the books are not original, but written years later, under the then historical circumstances and habits, and transcripted and translated several times. I think if you want to understand it right, you have to see the holistic meaning of love, understanding and peace instead of looking for single strange sentences. Bzw. today even serious bible scientists think it’s possible that at least one of the disciples was female and Jesus’ girlfriend ;-)

Satan or devil in the bible doesn’t mean a person or a being. It’s a synonym for bad temptations or evil thoughts. So bad things happen because the thoughts are in your head, not because an “evil being” tells you.

I’m sure not a convinced Christian, but I had very good and open minded religious instruction lessons in the boarding school I attended.

I guess the religious group you’re related with has a pretty medieval comprehension of Christianity, somehow fundamentalistic and repressive. Rules and restrictions instead of love and freedom so to say.

Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. (Luke 22,35)

W ell maybe so. But while societies and people change quite frequently, God and his words NEVER change. And He has promised us this. The bible IS meant to be taken fairly literally. Yes, lots of symbolism exists in the words during prophecies and parables. But there was a literal Adam and a literal eve. Jesus really is the Way the Truth and the Life, no one goes to the father but through Him. Sin is still sin, and there is still none good but God. No, not one.

I am glad to see you found God, Jesus and the Bible. Almost getting rare these days.

There is currently a war against those things because the government wants to be the highest authority in the land.

They will never get me to say "happy holidays" instead Merry Christmas !!
