see, I just stay bottled up until lights flicker and someone gets hit in the head with a fast moving keyboard. I've never cut myself, too afraid of pain, but with a sharp enough instrument it's probably less painful than snorting water, which I used to do (hurts like a bitch but makes you come to your senses REAL FAST).

Derogatory comments against people of the 'Emo' subculture, should be chucked out the window. I will assume, that as people here are on a 'Hippy' forum, they are, or have some interest in Hippies. Alot of people will have had things such as 'Pot smoking Hippy' thrown at them for no adequate reason, and these days, 'Hippy' would be considered as one of the many Sub cultures of the world. You're practically throwing back the insults that you recieve for no reason. Also, just because somebody slits their wrists, does not mean that they are 'Emo.' Old Shamanic and Pagan religions (This does not mean modern versions, so I am not insulting Wiccans, Druids, or any other religions of this type... I am one...) used to use self harm as a way of acheiving enlightenment, as many use drugs today. Alot of people here will have used drugs for enlightenment, or simalair purposes. So what right have you got to insult people who cut? For those of you who believe that Cutting is pointless, don't knock things unless you've tried them. I'm not saying that you should go slit your wrists just to try and get something from it, without good reason, but you will not understand the release of cutting, unless you've done it under the 'influence' of depression. Also Teenagers these days DO have a lot to deal with, a lot of people are categorised without good reason, and are ridiculed for being things which they are not. 'Goths,' 'Emos,' 'Metalheads,' 'Punks,' all the other subcultures are practically set against each other, and those being ridiculed probably have no idea what they are! And are just TOLD that they are a member of one of the subculture.
That was a long post... I hope someone manages to reach a new level of understanding from it

    When I'm sad, I cut....

or rather, I make the funk and drop some fat cuts. If you're feelin my flow. All you guys need in your lives are some fresh cuts and some of the newest jams.

I have only cut myself twice and im not even going to get into it. I can still see the scars. What she has said is the best thing on this topic. I suggest you think about that.

In the end. Giving yourslef pain is never an answer.
