It's one thing to go overboard and have a gay pride parade at school.


It's another thing to teach tolerance and acceptance to all regardless of sexual orientation and to all families. Back when I was in jr high I saw how (in a pretty backwards school... well, some of the people. Rural people w very intolerant parents.) certain people treated others they suspected as being gay.... people got beat up, made fun of....bad stuff. So I think the fact that schools in general teach children now to be more accepting of all is a very good thing. That's not to say it couldn't go overboard (see-the gay pride parade example at school), but overall I think it's good.

I mean most likely I think it was just hysterical, intolerant parents making a big deal about what was most likely just a classy choir signing a song or two about tolerance. Sure if they were singing some super gay song and dressed in drag maybe singing "it's so lovely to be gay. a great day to be gay lalallaa" then yea, that's not age appropriate I wouldn't think.

But I doubt it was like that.

I watched the beginning and then skipped to the choir.... I have the tv on right now so not gonna watch the whole thing. But I can give my opinion if you can tell me.... is it all like it is between min 7 and 7 mins 30 seconds? If it's all like that, I don't have a problem with it.

I mean assuming the school does stuff for black history month too like many schools do... I don't really see the big difference. If there's a big shocker in the video, let me know what min and I could change my mind but from what I saw, wouldn't bother me as a parent.

Those kids are super, super cute. Was waiting to them do something more...maybe dance a little more crazy or something, lol. Idk. They are adorable though.

Yes, I laughed "at you" but you don't know the nature of my laughter. The internet is deaf, and you can't see me. It wasn't the sort of laughter that would make you sour in the stomach or burn in the face, I can tell you that much.

This isn't my thread but I did contribute a lot to it. It's a matter that interests me, for various reasons. And while you, or others, may ignorantly jump to conclusions about what I wholly and deeply believe, I decided to share information that's really none of anybody's business (which I actually may have previously done, I forget). I'm not exactly "anti-gay" but as I've said, I'm thoroughly pissed off with the very inappropriate dominance in the world right now.
