Yep yep. Gotta love NJ/NY laws. Totally ridiculous. Glad I'm passed that age barrier now. Just one more year 'till I'm good.
can't buy a lighter under 18 here either...this guy lives here and doesnt know cause most stores ignore the law...however..the big corporate chains here...loblaws..mac's etc absolutely will not sell minors smoking related products of any kind...if i buy papers or a lighter for a kid outside the store...5000 fine..the only ''hip'' store in my town wont let kids even look at the smoking dope related stuff...i am torn on my opinion here cause i am not a die hard rights kinda guy..i have other issues that i believe more strongly..you will have to fight this one with-out me...good luck
Yeah, here in the good 'ol U S of A we have to be 21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_drinking_age *sigh*
The title of this thread is pretty misleading. This is simply a bill that would put an 18 year old age limit on lighters and require them to be kept behind the counter in Kansas. However, this isn't going to happen since the Kansas government is flat out broke. I would know, my mom works for KU med center, and she almost didn't get paid last month because the governor said they were completely out of money...
Two days ago I went into a store and bought a pack of zig zag whites and a black bic and the guy says "how old are you" I'm like "19" and he says okay and I handed him the money then I laughed and I just got my change and shit and left. But I dont think it's actually illegal here. It was funny though.
side note..during the croatia serbia conflict people made a living refilling bic lighters on street corners 2 bucks...sugar was 100 for a pound.dont think they needed i.d. cause of the war and all
"because its just too much to expect kids to be taught not to set fires." stupid fucking people. what about candles? what will all the teen closet pagans gonna do?
I think someone just wanted to make a stir and I doubt it would pass. Seriously, I bet the courts would be overflowing with teens.
