    Who cares?

    No really, so what?

    Bring your own bag.

There are a few stores in Portland that charge .05. Its funny how much people bitch (not so much here but in Portland) about something that is so easy to change by bringing a nap sack and a messenger bag! At worst, I pay the occasional 5 cents if I have A LOT of groceries but that is rare.

I guess if people have half a brain they figure, that nickel adds up over time and thus, you to consume a little less. that 5 cents adds up to a quarter every shopping trip. and over a year, that adds up 13..14..15 dollars. save money easy and consume less. I like it. some people will get it while some suckers will have two less six packs (or whatever) to buy at the end of the year.

I don't think it's so much caring about a nickle or two, but it's more so to make their customers think before spending, as far as recycling bags and such. A nickle or a quarter here and there probably won't break you, but if it makes a person come in and reuse a bag the next time they shop at a store, then that's what works.
