I hate answering my phone. That's probably not a good thing since my cell phone is also by my business phone. If I'm not somewhere that I'm able to take the call and complete making an appointment for a client then I let it go to voicemail and return the call as soon as I can. I'm not going to answer the phone and have someone try to make an appointment but not have my appointment books readily available to do so. So today a phone number I didn't recognize called. I sent it to voicemail. They didn't leave a message. They called back. I sent it to voicemail. They called 5 times in 3 minutes and didn't leave a message. Finally I answered the phone and was maybe a little more rude than I intended to be but I tried to cover my ass when I heard it was new client calling. Seriously though, who calls 5 times in 3 minutes and doesn't leave a message? I can't be the only person here that sends calls to voicemail or who hates talking on the phone. How many times would a number that you don't recognize have to call you before you finally answer the phone?
Forever..... If I don't know the number I am not answering it. If they don't leave a message I won't call them back.
I always return phone calls but I often do not answer the phone unless I have to. I really am not phone friendly as in I feel it is disruptive and often frustrating as it interrupts what I am doing. If it is work calling I have a distinct ring and answer it, same with if it is the kids. Otherwise I let it go to the machine and return the call when it is convenient for me. If I did not know the number calling I probably would not answer at all. Bad, I know.
Forever here as well. I do not have caller ID. People who know me know they have to leave a message and if I am here I will pick up. The only times I do pick up is if Dad is in the hospital and any number of phones could be calling me.
I don't answer unknown numbers. I don't call back either, so if they don't leave a message, them I'm happy not knowing who they were. A lot of the time, even when work phones I'll get it go to voicemail. I also hate when people phone and only leave a message asking me to call them back - and no explanation. I hate phones.
I just hate talking on them. I don't mind all of the other things I can do with it. Most of my clients know that I hate talking on the phone so they either pre-book when they leave, email, text or schedule online. I don't get very many people that actually call me anymore.
I like my phone, had no use for a watch (or alarm clock) ever since I got it  But yeah, I dislike talking on the phone too. Pretty stupid to apply for a callcenter job, happily they noticed that as well after 3 weeks
I very very very rarely answer my phone. Unless it's someone who's watching my kids, or one of the parents of the kids I'm watching, it will always go to voicemail. I'll usually return their voicemail with a text.
One of the girls on my derby team will call me several times in a row, then text "are you there?" then call a couple more times, then text again, "are you busy?" Drives me bat shit crazy. And it's not even anything important. 9/10 it's her wanting to borrow one of my vehicles.
A strange number has called me around once a week for the last year. They never leave a message so I'm never calling them back. I hate talking on the phone. My friends know to text me. Everyone else who bothers to leave a message has to wait a few days for me to prepare myself for a phone conversation.
I usually answer if its one of my friends or family members calling because they usually text if its not that important except my dad. He claims his fingers are too big to text even though I try to explain to him that they are the same buttons he has to push to call someone and his fingers push them just fine. Whatever, he'll never give in. He still has a flip phone. Anyway, yeah so if its friends or family I answer. Clients or numbers I don't know I always sent to voicemail.
Speaking of phones...mine is ringing right now. It's the girl I work with. Edit: I answered. She just wanted to know if cardboard boxes and magazines can be recycled. smh
I guess I am as archaic as people say cause I have a flip phone to, I like the basic functions i guess
