The difference is in the first scenario, you have objective proof of it, in the second, only subjective belief. Of course people have their own personal beliefs, and SOME people would continue to deny it even after it was demonstrated, but if you have objective proof you'd still convince a hell of a lot more people to believe you.

If you learn to lose hate and greed, then you've matured spiritually.Earth changes will not matter to you so much then.

Ever since I started this topic over two years ago, I have been sarcastically waiting for blinkered idiots with no imagination to start new '2012' topics asking things like "what do you think will happen?"

What I think will happen is that everyone will point and laugh.

    Again.
(see 6-6-66, 1984, September 1999 [or whatever date Nostradamus said], Y2K, etc etc)

If we all believed the world was ending because a calendar reached its end, we wouldn't all wake up with hangovers every january 1st.

i don't believe i've ever woken up with a hangover on january 1st.

gods floating down out of skies are a kind of negative wish fulfilment fantasy,

but global warming, peak oil, and economic melt down, are real enough. just not instantaneous events nor tied to arbitrarily nice round dates on calenders.

I dont think we will all die but I think something will happen, I'm really hoping its more of a reality check where people fiiiiiiiiinally realise what's important!

not all at once, no, not by bloody conflict and not all in one year. but we ARE more dependent on the health of the natural environment then it seems to be fashionable to give credit for. so reality check? undoubtedly when there isn't food in the stores, there isn't transportation bringing it, and we've all got bleeding sores and blisters and ghasping for what little oxygen remains in the air. i think as long as it remains all about the car and the dollar, that is not unlikely to happen. just not on some timetable of nice round numbered years.

    livin life day to day

wouldn't be totally surprised to see the skeptics proved right at the same time I've got this funny feeling in the pit of the stomach that tells me that hidden amongst the million diverging theories of what lies on the horizon lies the truth. My gut tells me 2012 won't be a year soon forgotten because something will go down, shit it's goin down right now for that matter, however when it's all said and done we'll still be here...well some of us anyways...life goes on

so like I was sayin, I'm livin life day to day

cheers, sante and good health to all

But much like the Yellowstone Caldera having a seemingly dependable cycle to it's eruptions, the rocks of the earth have in fact shown that our Poles do flip every so often, and we are in a narrowing window within this timeframe now, as we are also due for an Eruption if you go by history as any sort of Judge on these things.

Has anyone considered that Nibiru isn't really a Planet at all, but some bastardized hybrid concept of a star bearing Quasar with a cooler, low energy sun much smaller than ours and orbited by the remnants of Planets that never fully formed, creating in essence a shield which traps in all it's various wavelengths of light and energy save for the 0.001% of the time when it's own "planets" and gas clouds are in a proper alignment and it's position is within a proper range of our Solar system for us to see the brief flash of guiding light it might shine down upon the earth on these "Special occasions"?

But If there is such a group of objects in a wide, arcing orbit around the Milky way, depending on it's positioning relative to the earth, it could sure help explain why so many ancient cultures have a tale of some kind involving a warning from the Deity figure, a Great flood and an Ark and a gathering of living things to be saved from the deluge as such a large gravitational field could very well pull all the earths water to a particular quadrant of the globe and effectively flooding that portion of the Earth till this object moved out of the range required to affect the Tides in 40 or however many days it would take?

    Just thinkin'.. :sultan:

Nah, that was in 2011 - there was Occupy all over the world, and there was the Arab Spring. This year's all about elections and Olympics - all decoys covering whatever will happen during the rest of the decade.
