Reality is more than meets the eye, is it not

Whether you believe in God or not, there are many different components that make up everyone's reality. And not all of it you can see or touch.

Funny, I thought it was unrealistic to assume that anything could make life perfect on Earth. To me, reality is accepting that life includes crap no matter what you do. It's how you handle it that counts. That's where God comes in handy.

sorry....yes i know you cant tell that to the victims and families who dont know God, that's for sure! They probably blame GOd for letting it happen.

Am I blaming God for anything? Nope. No scapegoat here.

Ok, thank you. :) Yes people use God for a scapegoat a lot, I will agree with that, but those are usually the people who think that following God means everything will be wonderful. They blame the stuff that isn't supposed to happen on him because of that.

Whatever God want to give me, i will accept. I can not hold anything against God. He is my fortress! He sees my life in the big picture, i only see it bit by bit. And after a trial i can usually see what He was teaching me even though i cannot see it at the time. I just try and trust Him, that He is way ahead of me and building character in me.

    k gotcha....

but Christians believe faith is the evidence of things unseen.

when you are alone and things are quiet and you are left with your thoughts, dont you feel like you are more than just your body though?

Some awful things happen to some very faithful people. No matter if you are a believer or not, shit happens. Turning to God does not make everything all better, but you do find freedom in knowing that you are not, nor do you have to be, in control.

i just had to say that.

well, i don't feel i'm in control, but at the same time, i don't really feel that anyone else is, either. and i'm okay with it.

That's because God is in control.

    Fuzzy, forget it.

They'll always use a "scapeGod" for everything. Apologetics is sophistry built upon having an answer for everything in the name of "faith" or "God".

Always trying to save the "Saviour"... PRAISE DE LARD & SLAVER

You are either contradicting yourself, or have a poor use of vocabulary. Are you saying that God does not bear responsibility for the stuff He gets blamed for? Because if so, you are only agreeing with us.

No, you guys will always use the same method in your arguments. How can I blame a concept? You people are the ones who give credit or blame to your concepts instead of bearing responsibility for your own actions and arguments or lack thereof.

Everyone does that, Christian or not. The more I grow in Christ, the less I blame God for things that are my fault. In fact, I honestly can't remember the last time I blamed God for anything. I accept that the shit I do is my fault, and that makes me love God even more because He does all this stuff for me despite the fact that I am a major screw up. So for me personally, God is not a scapegoat for the shit I do.

But I will concur with you that yes, many misguided Christians tend to use God as a scapegoat, usually blaming him for shit that has happened in their life that they can't deal with, even though it's not really His fault. But as for blaming him for the stuff they do themselves instead of taking responsibility for it, I honestly have yet to meet an genuine mature Christian who has EVER tried to say that they did negative or bad crap because of their faith. If this is the type you've been running into this whole time, I really feel sorry for you. That's not how it should be. I'm sorry you've apparently had nothing but bad experience with Christians.

Libertine used to be a Christian. He must have come across all different types when Christians were accepted as real people in his social circle.
