If you were accused of not being a Christian, could you prove them wrong?

why are you so antagonistic towards a god you dont believe exists? just curious. directing so much hate towards a nameless, faceless, nonexistent entity seems pretty parallel to religious people who direct their love towards the same entity.

    that is a stupid question!

there are people i know who call themselves "christians," that i would say are not christians at all.:ack2:

i know people who would not call themselves christians, and yet, they are the most christian people i have ever known.:cheers2:

anyone who asked me that question, i would ask them this, "do you know what the church visible is?" "do you also know what the church invisible is?"
anyone who is not able to answer those two questions, is NOT a christian... at lest not yet. they still need to grow into being a christian.
this does not apply just to christianty. it applies to all religions.

there is a story, that one very long brutial winter, saint francis of assisi, walked barefooted in the sub-zero cold, in the high snow, to a dead almond tree. francis said to the tree, "tell me about god."
the dead tree became alive again and bloomed in full.

anyone who understands that story, and tries to the best of their ablity, to walk the path that the tree showed to francis, is a christian.

Wow, you've done some magnificent work then. You're quite a guy. And with just a grade 7 education? Impressive.

Ever seen a spoilt brat of kid throwing a temper tantrum on the supermarket floor and someone, usually an old codger, gets down with him and mimics his scarlet-faced contortions? Drives the kid totally fucking berserk, doesn't it? :);)

Saint Justin Martyr, in the second century, said that:those who live according to reason are Christians, even though they are accounted atheists." I'm not sure what he would have said about those who are accounted Christian but reject reason.

Anyone with a scintilla of reason can see the Christian concept of a good and lovable God is totally incompatible with that mad bastard in the Bible. Same as any reasonable person knows Christians could not possibly love this criminally insane ****. There has to be another explanation for their unreasonable behaviour.

A reasonable person could only conclude Christians (and Kikes and Mobombmedans) are (1 as evil as their God (2 they are pretending to love this detestable Chimera to save their sicophantic arses from Hellfire (3 they are as carpet-chewingly insane as their Kikeophilic fetish and should be chemically sedated and shut up forever in a rubber room.

Or they might conclude that some of the folks responsible for putting the Scriptures together were messed up, go with the parts that seem rational and inspiring (the Prophets, Ecclesiastes, etc.), and understand the rest in historical-metaphorical terms. Christianity isn't the same as Biblidolatry. I agree that belief in biblical inerrancy is a cowardly concession to get security at any price.

I wouldn't call myself a Christian for all the opium in China. I'm fucked if I know where folks get the idea that Jesus is all self-sacrificing love and tolerance. Jesus has as much compassion for his subjects as Josef Mengele has for the Jews he sadistically ordered to the left and right. Never forget the two-faced traitorous little turd is going to condemn billions of non-believers to burn alive forever on De Judgement Day. Simply because they couldn't comprehend what his incoherent Bible said and/or because, going by his earthly record, they refused to believe he could be such a backstabbing bastard.

So, like Christian fundamentalists, you're conflating Jesus with the biblical Yahweh. People condemn themselves to hell by stubbornly clinging to a mindset and value system that makes redemption impossible. Hell is a bad attitude--a state of mind that puts us at war with ourselves and others and perpetuates eternal misery. To blame it on Jesus is like bashing the messenger.

Answer this. Does Jesus completely back his father's, ergo, his own (according to most (trinitarian) Christians) criminally insane and inconceivably sadistic plan to torture billions of totally innocent people forever - because Daddio premeditatedly trapped one of their ancient female ancestors into commiting the Original Sin - or not? And if you come back with a heap of bullshit from the unsubstantiated Bible, don't bleat if I quote Biggles or Batman back to you.

I doubt it. The God you refer to is a creation of Saints Paul and Augustine refined by Calvin. I don't believe that such a Deity exists, and if it did, I wouldn't worship it. The Jesus whom I call savior and the deity I call God are embodiments of compassion and unconditional love.
