Well, there are obviously things that are easier to play than metal. That's why I said one of the easiest.
Metal can be an art, but the vast, vast, vast majority of it is cliched, boring, repetative shit like we just saw here today. Kids thinking they are cool because they mastered the all encompassing palm mute, or the elusive pinch harmonic, or have finally been able to speed up their alternative picking by 20 BPMs for those "blazing" solos. Most of it is a joke if you ask me. Metal is like the other side of the coin to the pop you hear on the radio.

 

Maybe the nu metal stuff you listen to lol.

 

It's not about how fucking easy it is to play, it's about how much heart and soul and time goes into your music.

And yea, fuck all the nu-metal bullshit and today's mainstream bands..the pulse of heavy metal lies in the underground!

But that's just my opinion.

 

Metal a broad term for many very different subgenres of which some may be easy and some are not easy to play well. Also it's not at all about how difficult it is to play indeed. Only nitwits like Yngwie Malmsteen think that.

 

But you have to admit, the guy is a fucking animal on the guitar.

If only he wasn't such an arrogant prick maybe he would have got more famous.

I guess he has great skills but I don't like to listen to his stuff at all. And not because he's an arrogant prick but just because skills alone aren't fun to listen to (in my opinion, I can imagine musicians can be intrigued more than once by his playing).

 

It's fun to watch him for like 5 minutes. Then it just gets boring. Sure it's amazing to watch him do that but I'd rather listen to a real song. Not just him shredding.

 

thats some amazing stuff there man. Know a few people making ambient vibes like that and it always chills me right out. A bit eerie too :cheers2:
