I can bang my head on a wall or argue with rocks or write a two page argument and still get nowhere... youtube is far more efficient.

I hear bs like this quit a bit too. Even though I have intensely studied the Catholic and Lutheran religions people still "fear for my soul" when I tell them I think it's a crock of made up shit. Like someone else said, it's simply a fairytale that has evolved into a one of the easiest ways to control the masses...fear.

Has anyone ever compared the different religions? The similarities are uncanny.
    1. A savior born on the 25th of December
    2. Born of a virgin
    3. Age 30 when the savior began his ministry
    4. Crucified upon a cross

I can't remember specifically right now, but the list goes on and on. Watch the Zeitgeist. They simply explain that ALL religion is based off of Paganism, which I tend to agree with. I mean how could one possibly get the interpretations correct for all the different languages out there? For christ sake even the "end of the world" is a misinterpretation. In the bible it says the end of the world is near and we should look for the warning signs. Well, sorry, but that's just wrong. What it actually says is the end of the AGES is near...meaning, we are leaving the end of the Aquarius year, and entering the year of the Pisces. Each AGE is 2150 years. Which means in no way is the earth only the 2011 years old Christians claim it to be, yet disproving another religious myth. I'm sorry, but the contradictions of religion has made me an atheist.

Well, the 2011 years is from the time Jesus came, not the beginning of the earth.

Same here really. When you look deeper into them, you keep finding holes and contradictions that just show it's most likely to be lies and fairy stories.

yup. And the only way to keep people believing is by offering them eternal damnation for not complying and being "a good little christian".

Oh, the so called 'loving God' and the threat of hell - the main things I do not understand!

That is one of the biggest contradictions going, yet people still somehow believe it is loving and kind of God to 'save' us.

The Bible, whilst an interesting read, is frightening.

Since I know people who do not believe just because of the fear of damnation and lots of people partake in christianity without losing their critisicm or ability to agree to disagree and can discuss this matter that is holy to them without getting lost in dogma's or cultural rules of more then 2000 years old I don't see religion as total bullshit. It has it's purpose. I lost my religion though, not in the first place because of the contradictions in the bible but more because I can't believe in the Jesus died for our sins stuff. No one will judge us. I also don't believe in any incarnation of God. I have no problem with people who do though. Everything I don't believe in could be called bullshit and so religion as well, but since other peeps love Jesus to death I guess why would I? Because they bother us infidels from time to time?

You make it sound like the people we're railing against are mild mannered christians. I know plenty of them. They're NOT the same beast.

We're talking about christians as those who really follow the church and it's brainwashing: the world's second largest religious group, and the one that's fastest inducting new members, while destroying primitive cultures to try to burn christianity into their region for good. Greedy scummy power hungry shits. These are evil people. (and the minions of evil people)

Well if that is what your mother taught you about the Bible, she doesn't seem to be a very good Sunday School teacher.

I'm suppose to take seriously some guy that keeps talking about the "apple" that Adam and Eve ate?

First the Bible never says what kind of tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and bad is, let alone that it was an "apple" tree.

Then he bases the rest of his argument on the assumption that Adam and Eve are stupid and nearly incapable of thought or reasoning and thus can not be held liable.

The truth is Adam and Eve were not children, they were full grown adults with all their thinking and reasoning abilities in perfect working order and they knew exactly what they were doing, although a case can be made for Eve being deceived but Adam was not.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to show how my statement "nips at its own tail".

All I was saying is that God has told us how he wants to be worshiped.
Yet many ignore what God has said on the subject and worship God any way they want, even in ways that are contradictory to what God has said about how he wants to be worshiped.

Now please explain how that is in any way circular. :)
