Avanti was the most polarized car of all time in public opinion. The same number of people who love the look equal that of the people who hate its guts.

My father hates it as do most of my friends and peers. But I quite like it as I'm a fan of what Raymond Lowey has done for the design community.

Another Lowery original design, the '53 Starliner, "one of the most beautiful cars ever made",[11]
Compare it to other '53 cars.

We had a '54 Champion. I still remember opening those little doors on the fenders to get fresh air.

Wow. You don't even need a PhD in electronics to carry out a routine service. LOL.

Overtaking a car in front would take on a whole new meaning. As would telling your wife to jump out at the shops.

one that is dimensionally transcendental and runs on magic.
(can fold it up and park it in my pocket, and has infinite space to carry everything and live in it.
ideally it should also be spaceworthy, include self regenerating life support, and be able to generate its own worm hole,
or other means of achieving ftl warp. need to be at least warp 80 to get anywhere worth going in less then year)

    Tucker Torpedo 1948

First car to ever be crash tested, independent front and rear suspension, seat belts, roll bars, a padded dashboard, and a ton of other features I'm forgetting about right now.

It also had a 3rd headlight that rotated with the turn of the steering wheel to see around blind corners and curves. And a windshield that shattered glass outward upon front end collison. It had a rear flat-6 engine with a top speed of 120 mph, which could outrun any cop car in 1948.

Only 51 ever made, 46 remain. It's my dream car. But I know the closest I'll ever get to having one is my die cast model I own.

Engine held in by a six bolt sub frame for easy removal.
Flat six aircraft engine and Tuckermatic 27 part continuously variable duo torque converter transmission.
    Screwy suspension system.

It would’ve been a great brand if the government and corporate lawyers allowed it to survive.

I knew a rich old Scotsman who bought a '40s MB Navy Jeep that was blue. Which is much rarer than the green and beige Army models. Well he wanted an Army Jeep, and got it painted olive drab. Little did he know he significantly lowered the resale value, and committed mortal sin.
