Yeah, when I used to go to church i had a chat with my minister about it and he gave me about 3 or 4 verses which talk about keeping your words pure.
this new picture is better. i like you like this. no more fuck you talk k. be sweet girl. seriously though.
According to the Ten Commandments they are. I mean, do not take God's name in vain is on the same list as Do not kill. I myself don't know exactly how strongly we're supposed to be taking these lil' beauties, but I would imagine if saying "God damn" is a sin, than telling your grandma to shut the fuck up before you brain her with a waffle iron, is prolly just as bad. Maybe? I don't know. My dad's a deacon -- I'm the son of a preacher man -- but he knows well and good that I just don't share his passion for religion. He doesn't force it down my throat anymore and I try not to make too many "priest-pedophile-jokes". It's all about the compromise.
Too weird is like saying really pregnant, or very dead. Extraordinary is like it too, it sounds like its describing something that is very ordinary. Words are like waffle irons, they can be used for good or evil. And who has not heard the sticks and stones may break my bones but....? Words are just words. For them to have any effect on you, you must first allow it. If I'm insulted, I don't take it personally, it's not about me.
Hell is seperation from God. It is beyond any horror your mind can make up. The stories I have heard of people who have had near death experiences and experienced Hell are very frightening. Jesus ministery spent much time warning people to avoid hell at all costs. I remember a man I once worked with who's uncle was eating dinner with his family. His uncle was not a Christian man, and as he was eating with them, suddenly he looked up with a startled look on his face and said, "oh know, their comming for me" with that said, he fell over dead. Not one of us know when are life will end. Yet, if you know Christ, death is not a thing to fear. For it is a passage from this life, to life eternal with a God who loves us. Without Christ, the future will be very dark for many. God gave me a small glimps of heaven some years ago, and I can tell you, the love and the splender of this place is beyond anything I could express. God tells us the pleasures of sin are but for a season. I would never trade my eternity, for a few cheap thrills. Yet, its a choice we all must make.
Well the Bible tells us that we can't work are way to heaven, so could u tell me why you are going to heaven?
Don't confuse those who abstain from the gifts of God with true believers. You are basically talking about the life (well, the last year has been a lot more laid back, less parties, more hangin out and getting to know older folks), that God has given me. Anyway, true believers are fun, exciting, hard core people. They know drugs come from God. They know sex comes from God. They know heavy metal music comes from God. And they definitely know that Kegs come from God. They are cooler than atheists too. Atheists (sinners) worry about a bunch of bullshit that they do not need to (because they don't have faith that God will take care of them). Like, I party on the streets, and my one friend who portrays himself as the most hard core atheist is SUPER paranoid about everything. Don't walk on the sidewalk with a beer, this and that. Totally lame... And people who claim to believe in God but don't know God are the worst. These assholes go around claiming beer is evil, this is evil, that is evil, if you party you will go to hell. These people are twisted and warped, and you need to understand this. Do not believe what they say. They are liars and deceivers, seeking to ingratiate themselves with God through twisted means, trying to bargain with God by giving up certain gifts in order to enter heaven. These people don't have a fucking clue (like campbell34). No, but I am wearing my firey "Go To Hell" shirt that God hooked me up with a few years back.
there is no such thing as a near death experience; its all sensationalism. you either exist or you cease exsting. but you are right in saying that we can't even imagine what afterlife is, whether heaven or hell.
On April 24, 1969 I got caught on a 7,400 volt eletrical line. What I discovered is even while I was laying on the ground unable to move. I could clearly see the events around me. I recall a woman looking down on me and asking the question, "is he dead?" I could clearly see her looking down on me, even though my face was looking away from her. After some time I came to the conclusion, that the only way I could of seen the things I did, and the way I saw them was through spiritual eyes, and not the physical. God gave me a glimpse of heaven, and I can tell you, it is a place where everyone there has an intense love for Jesus Christ, and each other. My near death had nothing to do with sensationalism, and I found myself present between two worlds. I can imagine heaven, because I saw a small sample of it. It was the best experience of my life, and I was sad when I had to leave that wonderful place. It is Hell that I have a hard time imagining. If it is the oppsite of heaven, it must be a place of horror. The Bible tells us that much, and I have no reason to believe the Bible is not telling the truth. Especially after my heaven experience.
your a smart man kharakov, you spilt some true wisdom amidst all the rebel-without-a-cause bullshit being said here.
Well the Bible is Gods Word, and if we love God, then it would be natural we would love the Words He speaks. When in Heaven, I walked into a room, and as I entered it, and without a word being expressed, the love of everyone around me was realized in a moment of time. I don't have the words to express it. As I walked into another room, I found myself standing in front of all these open white coffins. There were people standing next to them, and they were just singing praises to Christ, and when they would sing their words went right through my body, it was all so powerful, I never experienced such joy in all of my life. I then found myself walking down this beautiful hallway, and there was this man who appeared older than me, an a little shorter walking next to me, I told him I wanted to see more. He laught a little and said, "of course you do, of course you do," and with that, I woke up. Long before that event, in a prayer I had ask Christ if I could see a glimpse of Heaven, I was not sure He would allow that, but Christ is a God of wonder. What a wonderful place Heaven is. I recall years ago my grandmother who was a very devout Christian, and just before she passed away she told my aunt that God had just given her a vision of Heaven, she then turned to my aunt and said, "I just can't wait to go". She died a short time later.
i do not dount what you saw and what is real, but it seems in a lot of cases the Bible brings out the worst in people. they become convinced they are using love to convince others, when they are really not. the Bible has become an idle, rather than God himself. The Bible can be used to justify a lot of things using certain sections. I know you disagree, but i do not believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, I believe the Bible is quite historically accurate and has the Spirit as a guide, but because of mans free will and ego, it is never perfect, because nothing on the physical earth is perfect. peacex
I believe there are errors in some of the traslations, and in other translations there have been deliberate errors. Yet the finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 and the Majority text have gone a long way to bring the Bible as close to the orginals as we can get, and I feel confident that the orginal writings are pretty much intact. I can say this with confidence because of the fulfilled prophecies of the Old Testament, and not just because of the 300 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled in His life time, but the prophecies that are being fulfilled today point to the Second Coming of Christ. It is no accident the Jews are back in Israel today. Also, the historical aspect from the discovery of the real Mount sinia, to the Red Sea Crossing, to the Sealed Eastern Gate ect. have also confirmed the accuracy of the written Word. The Bible only becomes an object of worship, when you put the pages of the Book before the Words. The Bible can be used to justify a lot of things, yet that justification often does not agree with the written Word. People who abuse the Scriptures donot necessarely make the Bible incorrect, rather just the oppsite.
yes i believe this is a major problem with christianity, people use text to justify anything, personally to me, God is the feeling is the feeling of love, I know when God is talking to me. I do read the Bible, but i do not turn it into an idle. I just trust God, I do have trust issues with the Bible though peacex
Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by Word of God. The Bible can be trusted, for the evidence that this Book is special can be harvested from it's truth. It is the only Book I know of, that describes history before happens, and as many will tell you, only God's knows the future. http://www.thesignpost.org/trustbib.html
