Anyone that's against drugs is just following the line laid out by government and religion. I used to be the same way...until I did drugs :) Than everything changed

man, is someone on the attack here? cause i'm pretty sure that it was joke, if you read the quote i used from the fuckass JackStraw then you would see that it was just a sarcastic remark that means diddly shit until someone like you comes around reads it and decides to make a fucktard remark about it like i was serious.

The joke (and it was quite funny to me) was in reaction to teh Jackstraw poster (who I personally believe to be a joker him/herself) who posted in a born again manner regardgin teh evilness of drugs and said somehting along the lines of "if you do it seven times your toes will explode and your head fall off" or somethign equally ridiculous and amusing.

To which McGee very tongue n cheekily replied that that was lucky since he'd only done it six times... or was it seven .. hah hah... kind of thing.

As for our discussion I'm going back to your post to reply.

yes i did get that much out of his post.(i got the joke)

i was actually trying to change the subject back to the original subject. he disagrees with my point only he has very limited experience. not that there is anything wrong with that, its just that maybe he could realize that there is a good chance that he doesnt know what he is talking about - as far as this subject is concerned he lacks experience and brings no relevant point to the table.

WATCH OUT ITS A LONG ONE!!!!!

OKay first things first: (and although i became quite reactionary i do want to have a calm discussion about this.)

    Your Quote:

try to answer this question - if someone truly respects LSD and the people who use it, why dont they use it themselves?

You coudl say the same thing regardnig anything and then maybe you can see why its ridiculous to me.

If someone truly respects ______ and the people who use/practice/do it why dont' they use/practice/do it themselves?

you can fill that gap with ANY religion. You can fill it with skiing, meditation, medicine, parenting, any subject, action or philosophy.

To suggest people can only respect something by actively practising it is in my opinion silly.

Also, considering many people who DO actually do LSD or have done it in teh past or regularly who do not gain any insight or enlightenment from it, or simply because many people do actually really honestly just see LSD as a laugh, another drug, somethign to get messy on and laugh a lot is also quite high. So they may very well go around giving teh impression that LSD is not a drug that is very useful. not any more than alcohol or cocaine or whatever else people choose.

Although it bothers me deeply but there are teh odd case where people do LSD and then aren't quite right afterwards. I've never met someone who went mad but I did knwo someone who messed up their path. Maybe he was destined to be that way anyway, or maybe teh severity with which he took teh return to reality after a trip was what made him go a bit gaga. Not mad. just enough to mess up his otherwise relatively good chances at success and happiness in life. Maybe if he had had guidance or a guru or coucellor to help him through his LSD experiences he may have been a much better person.

As for yoru unhappiness with teh world. I think people should be unhappy with teh world. ANd then maybe try and do somethign about it. Mayeb after reading all of the above you can see why a whole world of people "switched on to LSD" is not teh answer for world peace (please see previous references to Charles Manson and his "family"). If you have a psychosis it will probably increase it's potency. Hitler on LSD would be probably horrendously scarier than hitler without LSD. (not to say if you superdose him he may not find some iota of change but its not a given)

Hence there are many thigns you shoudl be unhappy about. The fact people dont' have clean running water in teh world, that people starve, that injustices againt individuals and societies and ethinicities happen on a large scale on a daily basis. That human trafficking and slavery still occurs, that politians are corrupt and greed and power hungry teh whole world over, that democracy doesn't always equal justice. There are a billion things to get upset about in teh world andteh fact that drug laws are unjust and out of proportion and balance is just a tiny part of that.

I once met a lesbian jew who went to do charity work in Palestine and I asked her what on earth that was like with her lifestyle being rejected. She was very young but she replied "its not their battle yet".

If peopel aren't willing to accept you for yoru lifestyle maybe its not time for them to. And maybe if you relax and continue in a everyday manner people will realsie that even everyday people like you who are good contributing members of society can be peopel who are takers of LSD.

People have had to deal with prejudice regarding their race, sex, religion, sexuality, caste, tribe, political beliefs etc. and have faced far more cruelty and opposition. Not to say that your opinion on teh injustice being wrong is wrong. Its not. I think I shoudl be abel to walk down to my local chemist and purchase some LSD when I want. Its good for me. It makes me creative, productive, caring, and rejuvenates the essential parts of me. Its not addictive and it shows me things i never saw/understood before. At teh same time I do not think every single perosn should have that access. DO I think that therefore someone foudn with LSD is criminalised when they are obviously not criminals? shoudl people have their lives thrown away because they choose to responsibly search for enlightenment? Hell no. BUt i'm trying to say that as someone who is a taker of LSD and one who is searchign for enlightenment you should appear enlightened. TO condemn people for not doign as you do is in my opinion teh opposite of enlightened.

Also LSD should not be teh only part of you. I can understand how (boy can I talk about it non stop for hours on end) it can be teh most exciting all consuming experience, but i do feel LSD shoudl help people take aspects of their experience into teh sobriety of everyday life. Teach or spread to otehrs not by dosing them up but by inspiring them in whatever way you can.

Surely any external chemical shoudl not be what defines a person. as one of my favourite Acid inspired bands once said "your minds guaranteed, its all you'll ever need". Surely if you are a believer in LSD you should know that its not about tripping. As jimi said, its about teh experience. All of it. As is life itself. Sucking teh marrow out of it and all that.

AS for your band. I dont see ANYTHING wrong with havign an all acid taking band. Just beware that no one ends up a syd barrett. AS great as he was. I would however cnsider takign people on who are curious abotu things, who are stable and happy and confident in themselves, who dont have insecurites, instabilities, and love to express themselves, seek knowledge and help others. Who are not teh type of people who accept or take things at face value, who question everythign but not to be contrary but to simply understand and learn for themselves. Those are teh people i'd take on if I were lucky enough to be in a band. There are fantastic artists musicans and scientists, writers and what not else who never touched LSD.

you suggest that i am condemning these people. you think that i want it to be this way.

i will say it again - i am making an observation of the way things are. if there are now or every will be people in the world who are capable of respecting LSD and those who use it without doing it themselves then i would be happy to know they exist. i would embrace this reality with excitement of a better tomorrow - there may be hope yet.

someone who condemns people does not want them to change. a person who condemns another person does not believe that the other person is even capable of changing. i am not saying that it is impossible for these people to change - i am saying that in my experience and how i see things at this point in time, i understand why most people who do not use LSD themselves are unable to respect the drug and those who use it. if there is a solution or some way that this REALITY can be changed then i ask for the answers. - not a bunch of people who dont want to believe it even when it is all around them - DENIAL. a good point to make here is that most people will not say to your face what they truly think of you. if someone thinks that you are crazy for doing acid they might not have it in them to say this to you. they may be nice a polite with you giving you the impression that they are ok with your lifestyle when in fact they are not. most likely they will only talk about it with other people who they know share the same view - people who are afraid to speak their mind are cowards and most cowards will avoid a confrontation at all costs. in other words dont assume that because no one has told you that they think that your fucking nuts for using LSD that that means they are ok with your lifestyle.

FACT - if you use LSD, there are millions of people who think you are crazy for doing so. - get used to it! unless there is some huge movement(most likely involving music) that has better success then the last time, we can all expect that nothing will change any time soon when it comes to the many misconceptions of the wonder drug known as LSD.

you got me all wrong - AGAIN.

you are right that you can say the same thing about a lot of other things but NOT everything. things like whether or not someone likes to ski or whether or not someone likes onions comes down to personal taste for the most part and most likely has nothing to do with respect. when it comes to meditation someone who respects it but does not do it probably feels bad that they are unable to make time for it and probably wish they did meditate. there is no way that someone could understand the benefits of meditation and not want to meditate - whether or not they can find the peace or time to meditate is another story.

my point is very clear and it is very sad that so many people can miss it or fail to understand it.

you cant even give me a real life example that you have experienced to prove that there are people who respect LSD but do not use it. you just go on some rant trying to tell me what i already know or trying to confuse the point in your own misunderstanding of it.

my understanding of the way things are comes from years of experience and interaction with many different people. i used the example of my brother to help prove my point - only a complete idiot would assume that because i only mentioned my experience with my brother that that is all the experience i have. there are many people that i know personally who are unable to respect LSD and myself for using it. i do not want to go on and on with every situation that i have experienced in trying to prove my point - that would be ridiculous. i know there are people dumb enough to think that i came to this conclusion based on my experience with my brother alone, so i just wanted to make sure they understand how ridiculous they are for assuming that i could be so stupid. i am actually making a very clear observation of the way things are. if there are exceptions i would be happy to know about them - in my own experience so far i have yet to see it possible.

those who do not use LSD think that there is something wrong with those who do. i hope that this can be changed.

Okay I guess I understand to a degree what you are saying but i do think that you are being somewhat narrowminded about it. I do think there is a perception amongst those who do drugs of various kinds and those who dont that LSD is somehow the bastion of insanity or somethign equally unhinged. THis is a myth and should be corrected but its difficult to correct such things.

HOwever, here's a proposition for you. I meet people who do actively enjoy tripping and tripping hard on LSD who don't see it as anythgin other than fun and laughter nd wonky visuals. I personally see it as much much more. these people in my opinion are potentially worse than thsoe who never touch the drug as they themselves are not openign up to teh wonders teh drug has to offer and are themselves not really respecting teh drug.

so no. 1. What do you think of those people?

secondly. you are trying to make out i only gave you examples of taste but i didn't. do you respect other people's religions? or their philosophies that are different form yours? or a way or life that does not harm others but has no LSD in it and works for them. (we could go back tothe Yogi on teh mountain top fo rthsi example) and if you do... why are you not livign like them? do you respect a doctors ability to svae lives? if so why are you not studying to practice medicine? please express if you inderstand what i'm getting at here.

as for people who do not do LSD but respect it. there are many. I don't drink. I've never really wanted to. But teh culture, the affects, the lifestyle just simply does not appeal to me in teh least. people could say teh same abotu LSD. And they do. SOme people fear LSD and despite doing lines of coke, pills, drinking themselvese under tables, and some even soem doign mushrooms as they deem them "natural" will never do LSD. they just don't want to. they know abotu it, are open minded enough to not be swayed by its legality but just dont like the idea of opening doors in their minds that they prefer fully closed.

Also, some people do try LSD and then never go back to it.

As for real life examples there are a few I know of but i'm not goign to sit on here naming my mates or my mates mates. What would you like? names and adresses? geez?!

I agree that LSD is seen by namy peopel in a negative light but please understand that its whats in yoru own head that makes LSD what it is. YOU and I may find wonder and understanding of life and death there wheras others may not. ANd in fact dont. The finest example of that is :

Francis Crick is known to have said he would have never come up withteh double helix structure of DNA if it were not for LSD. he was apprently tripping when it came to him.
Charles Manson is known to have killed loads of people and used LSD himself and on his "family" while doing such things.

its all in yoru own head. and hence EVERYONE out there cannot be defined by their ability to take LSD or not but perhaps its better to judge who would suit teh drug and who wouldn't. My nan (now deceased) would never in a million years go near such a drug but i imagine in her mind it woudl do wonderful things. my borther would also probably never touch teh drug and quite honestly I can see why.

The fact that socially its unacceptable and some people are unable to open their minds and question everything is a sad state of affairs indeed. however I think you are just as unwilling to open your mind to people. LSD is not our saviour. Well, i mean, it might be ours, but not everyones.

I dont want to argue with you as its rare to find soemoen who values LSD as much as I do and I imagine we coudl have quite a laugh if one day we were ever to meet. however to judge teh world in such one dimensional ways is sad. If you have done LSD you should understand teh greater nature of things. you shoudl understand how we all fit into the giant fractals that life is made up of. You shoudl understand that soem people reach teh branches of greatness in different aspects of life and others wither in weakness.

I now a firend who is almost yoru age and has only just now through meeting a man (sad but also good) discovered that she has a passion to learn things, to know more about life. she wants to read and gain knowledge. she's the most straight laced person I know but she's got a good heart and the way she's going abotu increasing her knowledge is almost child like but its sweet and beautiful.

As for cowardly. people have strengths and weaknesses. that life. some have more of one and less of the other. I think loving humanity fo rteh most part is surely better than judging it harshly since we are all so very similar.

but yeah, i agree. some people think loving LSD means that you are nuts, out of touch with reality and need help before you go mad etc. and ideally thsoe people wouls learn that that really isn't teh case.

I always think LSD shouldnot become more important than life itself. teh reaosn to me LSD doesn't have any side effects for thsoe who warm to it is IMO that is feeds teh inspiration to enjoy life. it imnproves you, it makes you confront yoru fears and control your anxieties and weaknesses. however it shouldn't become more important than life.

Also, i've read in a few places that peopel who do actually go ahead and do teh thumbprint dose many of them don't go back to doing much LSD ion teh future. They seem to express it was enjoyable but once you've got all you can form it, whats the point of doing more?

I totally know what you mean about there being a difference between those that use drugs and those that don't. I notice that my friendships strengthen when both of us use drugs, but we feel more distanced if they don't use drugs.

Listen 3xi, acid is fucking great. am i right? it changed you and it changed me. now you have a different lifestyle goin on. you make friends, new ones, and they all dont take acid. so then since you love acid soooo much, you tell your self, all my true friends are people who take acid like me and have a total life change like me. your TRUE friends. dude there is this thing goin round the earth and it is called friendship. friendship, my buddy, is wen people who are uuber kool meet other people who are uuber kool and like each other enough to kick it after skool or at the end of the day and just do kool shit together. you are kinda taking acid like a RELIGION thing wen its not. its a psychedelic and it is meant for OPEN MINDED people. people who DON'T give a shit if you take acid or not. acid is for people who had enlightnment or want it and are living in THE world instead of YOUR world. understand, man, the meaning of OPEN MINDEDNESS. its kool if it makes you happy to make friends with people who take acid, but its kinda messed up if you totally have a fixed image of those who dont take it. like u said, people who dont take acid look at acidheads as if there is something wrong with them. but at the same time, its the other way around, oh wait or is it the same way?.... so in answering your question, people are way different man, and their image of acid is fucked up by the media and shit so they wont respect it to begin with and most certainly wont dropp it. the earth is fucked up rite now so you gotta wait.

if we take a look outside of our own perspectives for a second, and saw somone who'd been doin acid for the last 10 years, than that person would be quite strange indeed.
