If someone says they miss you...

Usually I say, "I missed me too. It happens when you're as badass as I am".

But if they go so far as to ask if I miss them too, and I didn't, well then they've asked for it and they're getting it as bluntly as possible. I obviously went out of my way not to say it back, and my motto is: Don't ask a question you may not want the answer to.

 

I always fib and say that I've missed them, too. White lies will sometimes save your ass in situations like that.

 

if someone says they miss me I just say. "yeah i know i missed me too".

Usually do the same if someone says they love me or something affectionate like that. "Yer well..I love me too."

 

Yeah, exactly!...How can anyone ask if you missed them or if you loved them and expect positive answer?!...That's really miserable...

 

Save your ass? How so? By continuing, and worsening the situation by making somebody think you are have feelings for them that you aren't? The truth eventually comes out in words, attitude, or treatment, and the person will be just as hurt, if not more, later on, than they would've been originally.

 

Couldn't have put it better myself.

 

I just wonder if there is a TACTFUL way to say it. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by being rude and mean...

Just say, "Listen, this is hard for me to say, but I don't really feel for you like I thought I still did. I'd like to be just friends without all the extras. I hope you understand."

Simple, straight forward, and kind.

It works for girls too. I mean, when you're as big a heart breaker as I am, you have to be good at these things or bitches start keying your car and shit.



Note: By using 'bitches', I'm not generalizing females, I'm referring to women that really are bitches.
