the avrage american buyer doesnt get that kind of choice. the avrage american buyer ushily doesnt even know the name or exact effects of the weed there getting.
getting back to "If pot was legalized," i would have the biggest fucking pot farm in the whole US. who cares about price when youre making your own, right? i mean, if pot was legal (which i now realize TOTALLY should be) then why not be a regular green thumb, just tokin on the front porch, tending your garden high as hell. thered be nobody to stop you, so just take FULL advantage of it. you could grow a lifetime supply, store it in some of that glad press-n-seal shit and keep on smoking till the day you die (FOR FREE)
not exactily. farming is a very hard and expencive career to get into. trust me. since i started smoking weed i have grown to love it for much more than the high it gives me. i love it for the enjoyment of the growing prossess too. it gave me my aspiration to become a botanist. i also want to own a small farm when im older so i can grow my own food...all because of this wonderful plant
what i mean to say is, growing (legal or illegal) in big quantities is usually cheaper than buying from a grocery store or dealer. how do you think farmers and botanists make money? besides, you could sell at price you determine to your buddies to keep growing and providing for their smoking enjoyment?
well, if it was legalized, it still wouldnt neccessarily be legal to grow. an example: tobacco. its legal to buy/sell/use but its illegal to grow without permit.
yeah. but the cops arnt exactily looking for someone illegaly growing tobacco. many would still grow illegaly if it became legal to use but not grow. the grow laws would probbly become more lax anyway if it became legal to use.
jesus, i hope not. i think it would be tax class J just like tobacco and alcohol (here in the US anyways)
you see, they would have to keep their prices lower than a street seller would be able to sell his. if street dealers could sell relatively cheaper than the govt can sell, then they would have business. so in order to get rid of street dealing, mtheyd have to sell super cheap, super potent weed. growing your own would prolly still be illegal, cept the govt or mccannabis industries' plantations.
psilonaut: Befor I have bought from any dealer, all of whome claiming to have the best stuff, people usualy ask there friends if they've tried his stuff, and if its good, it is most customary within my area for an unknown dealer to smoke up a first time customer for free, just so they get a sense of what his product is like. Personaly I don't think weed should be legalized, it would destroy our nicely nit communities and systems of growing, dealing, trading, and importing. While it may not be obvious to any extent, pot smokers have there own community, moral codes, language, and views on life. The second the government takes over and starts selling we will be getting our weed from someone that knows nothing of our society. They will process it, chemicalize it, and who the fuck knows what else they will do to it... As far as my views are, the system is great, starting with the fact that its easier for a minor to obtain marijuana than alcohol... Not to mention, just imagine all the things that would change... no more haggling on prices, no more beaners in the weed(Harder to grow for people)
Ah yes, the beautiful life behind the black market marijuana trade. The friendly farmer sells it to the nice salesman who distributes it to various children around the community. I dont know about you, but i would rather have the government preparing my weed than a dirty, dingy thug who can lace it wtih God knows what.
I think they would raise the price because a lot of people would buy it regardless of price. They should legalize it and use the profits towards education, I mean what a good idea. It would help so much.
WHEN it is legalized it wont be the government that controls the distribution. It will be corporate America that does the growing, marketing, packaging and distributing. I think you can count on the Tobacco companies to jump all over that one. I have a friend that works for Philip Morris and he says that they already have a brand name for a marijuana cigarette in the event it becomes legal. He might be bullshitting me but I wouldnt be surprised if they really do. Big Business controls our politicians and the politicians will hand control over to big business as soon as they realize the war on drugs is futile and expensive. I think we will see it in my lifetime. I hope so.
Put forward bills to stop that then. In ontario you can only buy alcohol at government stores. You could do the same with grass...
Yeah, why do some say "it will never happen" when some states are already becoming very tolerant? I mean, in some states, you can up to like 30grams on you and youll walk, right? That seems like a major step in favor of legalization, and the idea doesnt sound too far off. The only downside i see to legalization is that i think smoking pot would lose some of its "sacredness" (for lack of a better word), what with everyone being able/having the guts to get their mits on it.
I'm not sure if you are a dumbass, or just don't pay attention, but we have this thing called capitalism. The government doesn't set the prices, bud.
